PHP developers wanted! - work in NZ

We're looking for an awesome programmer to join our small (and
quickly growing) company based in Wellington, New Zealand. You will be
developing in a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environment, and you
will need some experience in this area, but we are more interested in
your general skills as a programmer. Experience with object-oriented
JavaScript, XHTML/CSS, Linux administration and user interface design
will be a big plus.

You'll get to work with a great team, cutting-edge technology, and in
a great environment. And, for your time, we'll pay you well.

Initially you will be offered a three-month contract for an exciting
project, and the role will likely lead to further employment
opportunities.

Hi Everyone Thanks for your replies and thanks to everyone for making such an interesting discussion. After working very hard to get my Computer Science degree and investing my own hard earnt money heavily in MSDN subscriptions and programming books etc just to keep my skills up to date, I began to wonder if it had all been worthwhile now that the forthcoming ASP.Net 2.0 (Whidbey) seems to be abstracting much of the techniques that I

There are numerous times I've wanted to go back to the familiar, but the quest for solutions (or perhaps just something new to learn) has kept me moving forward with .NET. For all of those VB developers out there in the trenches with unrealistic deadlines always looming, stick with it -- don't give up. .NET can seem intimidating at first -- but that very intimidation also provides the rewards in flexibility and power. I do not pretend...

I am not a .NET developer. I want the Developer's Edition of Visual Studio for use with my Access2000 databases. Does anyone have a clue as to where to find it - my office manager says only .NET is available from any websites she's searched. Anybody have a used copy they'd like to get rid of? Is/should it be impossible to get hold of this product? My understanding is that .NET doesn't offer that much as far as Access development is...

I don't know if I should even start this topic but here goes. I'm an ex vb6 developer, now developing in C#. The reason why I started developing in C# is because the company that I worked for at the time standarised on C#. Many of my friends working in previous companies that I worked for are starting to move back to VB.Net. When I asked them why, it seems that the next release of VB.Net seems very promising and they kinda see...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
