Hello all,
I recently started using Python, and I must say I like it. Both the
language and libraries available for it.
Background: I have written an application which I use to keep track
of my personal economy. I wrote it in Java because I wanted to learn the
language for a course in programming at my university. Now that I have
acquired an interrest in Python I was thinking about porting my program
to Python.

I've been reading a lot of python modules lately to see how they work
and I've stumbled across something that's sort of annoying and wanted
to find out of there was a good reason behind it. In a Perl program
when you're calling other modules you'll add "use" statements at the
beginning of your script like:
use strict;
use WWW::Mechanize;
use CGI;

Hello,
What is the Pythonic way of implementing getters and setters. I've
heard
people say the use of accessors is not Pythonic. But why? And what is
the alternative? I refrain from using them because they smell
"Javaish."
But now my code base is expanding and I'm beginning to appreciate the
wisdom behind them. I welcome example code and illustrations.

How do you compare Python to Lisp? What specific advantages do you
think that one has over the other?
Note I'm not a Python person and I have no axes to grind here. This is
just a question for my general education.

What would heavy python unit testers say is the best framework?
I've seen a few mentions that maybe the built in unittest framework
isn't that great. I've heard a couple of good things about py.test and
nose. Are there other options? Is there any kind of concensus about
the best, or at least how they stack up to each other?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
