Interesting. I looked at those projects but could not find any hint
of a salary.

:-)

I thought they had too many developers. The guys managing the SVN
project wrote a book (imagine) on how to get rid of developers.

Reasons are many. For instance there are obnoxious developers that
insist that the code they write has their name on it. It is OK to
work for no pay, but at least their name should appear.

Nope. The SVN managers said that that was too much. And they add
that if somebody goes away "there will be always someone that comes
to fill the gap"...

So, developers should work anonymously and for free. GREAT.

Are there many PHP public domain projects out there? I'm particularly interested in CMS project materials. So far - outside of my own projects - I've found /very/ little PD PHP material out there. A large proportion of the PHP community seems to have embraced the Gnu licenses - complete with all their restrictions on the users of the software.

Hi, This is a newbie's question. I want to preload 4 images and only when all 4 images has been loaded into browser's cache, I want to start a slideshow() function. If images are not completed loaded into cache, the slideshow doesn't look very nice. I am not sure how/when to call the slideshow() function to make sure it starts after the preload has been completed.

I couldn't find the 'right' group to post this, so I thought I'd try it here. If you can suggest a better newsgroup to post this in, please let me know. I trying to figure out if there's an easy way to share VS.NET code (for an ASP.NET app) between 2 remote developers. In general only one developer will be changing the code, but I'd like both developers to be able to compile and run the code on their machines. The code shouldn't run...

We are having a lot of trouble with problems relating to failures relating to 'The located assembly's manifest definition with name 'xxx' does not match the assembly reference" but none of us here really understand how this could be an issue. The assemblies that the system is complaining about are ones that we build here and we're not changing version numbers on anything. The errors come and go with no apparent rhyme or reason. We do not...

Hi All - I have a question that I think MIGHT be of interest to a number of us developers. I am somewhat new to VIsual Studio 2005 but not new to VB. I am looking for ideas about quick and efficient navigating within Visual Studio 2005. Let's say your project (or solution) has dozens of forms and hundreds or even thousands of routines. Two Questions: 1) BUILT-IN to Visual Studio 2005. What ideas do you have to quickly

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
