Ajax Developers' Day to Kick Off XTech 2006

Ajax Developers' Day to Kick Off XTech 2006 Conference

Industry experts offer insight into next generation of the Web

ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA, USA - April 25, 2006 - In response to the
rapidly developing world of Ajax user interfaces on the browser,
IDEAlliance (www.idealliance.org) announced today that its annual XTech
Conference will kick off on May 16 with Ajax Developers' Day. XTech
2006 (www.xtech-conference.org), to be held May 16-19 in Amsterdam, The
Netherlands, is the premier European conference for developers and
managers working with XML and web technologies.

Ajax Developers' Day is being organized as a forum for web developers
involved in creating dynamic Ajax-based web user interfaces or
toolkits, and will be chaired by Simon Willison, technology developer
at Yahoo! The event will also feature a lightning demo session at the
end of the day, where each presenter will demonstrate his Ajax toolkit
or application, whether commercial or open source. Alex Russell,
president of Dojo Foundation and a co-founder of the Dojo Toolkit
project, will provide the keynote for Ajax Developers' Day with a
presentation on Dojo and the future of the open web.

Other speakers and their topics confirmed for Ajax Developers' Day
include:

· Simon Willison, technology developer at Yahoo!, providing an
overview of the Yahoo! User Interface Library, a set of utilities and
controls written in JavaScript for building richly interactive web
applications using techniques such as DOM scripting, HTML and Ajax.
· Max Carlson, lead runtime architect at OpenLaszlo.com, discussing
upcoming plans for OpenLaszlo and how they relate to the Ajax
community.

· Jeremy Keith, web developer at consultancy firm Clearleft and a
member of the Web Standards Project, focusing on the progressive
enhancement of web site development with Ajax.
· Simon Wistow, web developer, discussing the use of Ajax to
effectively blend solid code with great web design.
· Sebastian Schürmann, web developer at Mayflower and Thinkphp,
describing the daily experience of developing an Ajax framework and
applications in XUL and Javascript for Sixt Cart Rental.
· Kurt Cagle, web developer and author of more than 15 books and
hundreds of articles on XML-based technologies, exploring how the use
of Ajax and E4X together will simplify programming web applications.
· Mark Schiefelbein, director of product management for leading Ajax
vendor Backbase, presenting on using XML technologies such as XPath and
XSLT to efficiently manage Ajax-style interactivity.

"Ajax is a technology that is poised to change web development,"
said Edd Dumbill, XTech 2006 conference chair. "As toolkits and
techniques proliferate, we want to help developers make the best
choices, and bring together the leading projects to promote cooperation
and consolidation in client-side technology. Attendees of Ajax
Developers' Day will learn about the benefits and problems of Ajax
directly from leading practitioners. They'll also get the opportunity
to share their views about the direction that Ajax should take."

The theme for XTech 2006, "Building Web 2.0," recognizes the key
role of standards-based and open technology in enabling the next
generation of web applications. This year's tracks include
applications, browser technology, core technologies and open data with
presentations on topics such as Rails, Semantic Web, XQuery, and
network security. The full program schedule, with session descriptions,
is available at www.xtech-conference.org/. Mozilla Corporation and W3C
are co-hosts for XTech 2006, and current sponsors of the event include
Justsystems, IBM and Adobe.

Simon Willison, technology developer at Yahoo! and chair for Ajax
Developers' Day said, "This event brings together a superb group of
speakers with a great deal of combined experience and expertise in the
client-side technologies that Ajax development incorporates. Ajax
Developers' Day is an excellent opportunity to meet developers who
are already creating the next generation of the web."

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
