GAC & Side-by-side Help!!

Ben
I'm having some issues understanding the GAC. I have little doubt I've over
complicated my problem, but here it is. I want to have a project reference
an assembly in the GAC. Then I want to add a new version of that assembly
to the GAC and have my project continue to use the old version. The problem
is that it seems to immediately use the new version. I've tried deleting
the reference from the solution explorer view and I've tried adding
reference via my app.config. But that approach isn't working. I suppose
I'm going to need that reference but my problem is when I register the next
version of the assembly, my app immediately uses it.

Thanks,
Ben

Simple database: I want to have a user enter Supply Orders (just for tracking purposes) by Item. The user may also enter a new item - "new" is a combination of Item, PartNumber and Vendor - they could have the

Being a newbie with Reference/Resource is there a way of embedding the ..resource file within a folder of my application instead of having it in the main project /executing assembly area. i.e. if I have a folder pertaining to variables, I would like to have that "variables.resource" file within that folder and be able to call it from there instead of calling it from the executing assembly area. So far I am unable to figure out the complete...

For reasons I have not yet identified my Help, Search and Help, Index has quit working. That is, in the VB IDE, from the Help menu, I can select Dynamic help or Contents and things work as expected. But when I select Index or Search, the tabs appear but when I click on the Search or Index tab nothing happens. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

But here it goes...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
