I have a text file which contains VB.NET code. The VB.NET code is actually a
Class that can contain code, which simply displays a message box or does
something more complicated (i.e Excel/Word Automation, communicate with the
DB and/or WebServices, talk to other classes). To achieve a complicated task,
this class would need reference to other custom assemblies (not part of .net
framework) that are possibly not installed to the GAC.
In my...

Hello Experts!

by Tomasz Muldner and here I read something that I don't understand
completely.
It says
"A garbarage collector, such as the one used in Java, maintains a record of
whether or not
an object is currentlys being used. An unused object is tagged as garbage,

It happens much too often that I have to tell a client how to fix up missing
references when I send them an application, especially if the client is
distributing it to different users. It makes me look unprofessional (which I
guess I am to some extent). I've tried the fixuprefs() function I got from
the knowledge base (that uses the qryTestRefs and checks for error 3075),
but it doesn't seem to get called, and I still get the problem. I'm...

With Reference/Resource is there a way of embedding the .resource file
within a folder of my application instead of having it in the main project
/executing assembly area. i.e. if I have a folder pertaining to variables, I
would like to have that "variables.resource" file within that folder and be
able to call it from there instead of calling it from the executing assembly
area. So far I am unable to figure out the complete syntax of...

Hi,
It seems to me that measuring productivity in a programming language
must take into account available tools and libraries.
Eclipse for example provides such an amazing IDE for java that it is no
longer obvious to me that one would be much more productive in python
for medium sized projects.
Sure, all that Java static typing can be painful, but Eclipse takes

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
