Is an upgrade possible?

I have a Microsoft Office Professional & Bookshelf for Windows 95
CD. (version 7.0) This version of Office Pro includes version 7.0 of
Access95.
Pre installed on my new computer is, Microsoft Office Basic Edition
2003 (s55-00033) MS Office Basic 2003 does not include MS Access.
Can I install Access 95 from my Office Pro95 CD to my new computer
and then upgrade to Access 2003? Thanks

Daven's already given you the answer.

But usually for these upgrades all you need to do is to insert the qualifying
software CD in the drive when it prompts you at the beginning of the newer software
install. Usually the older software doesn't have to be installed first.

Personally, I would avoid at all costs installing any 95 Office product on a
late model PC. I would instead just go and buy the latest Access package,
which I believe is in the ballpark of $200 to $300 retail. I may be wrong
on certain editions, but I do not believe you can upgrade to 2003 from 95.

However, I do believe you can upgrade your Office Basic 2003 to OFFICE PRO
2003 which includes Access 2003, for nearly the same price as the retail
Access package. Again I may be mistaken. But the advice is the same on
this wise: avoid installing Access 95.

Hi I am in the process of learning javascript and was wondering how often the web professionals update I.E & N.N? I mean do you religiously wait for the next upgrade and download it ASAP when available or do you upgrade only between main version and don't worry about minor updates? I currently have I.E 6.0.2600 & N.N 6.2.3 Latest I.E. is 6.0 (SP1) Latest N.N. is 7.1

Hello, I am trying to figure out how to determine if I have fixed an upgrade warning. If I delete the green text then the upgrade warning goes away. However, I would expect it to come back after I rebuild if I haven't changed any of the code. Can anyone clarify what actions to take with the upgrade warnings? Thanks

Hello, There are often questions in this newsgroup posted by VS.NET 2002 users. VS.NET 2002 is "out of date", its successor is VS.NET 2003. There is a special ("cheap") upgrade offer available for $29 US. This offer is open only until September 30, 2003. You will get more information about this offer here: Visual Studio .NET 2003 Upgrade Offer

We have several machines currently running the DB2 V7 Run-time Client that we would like to actually be running the App Dev Client. To 'upgrade' (within the same version) this client software can we simply install the App Dev Client on 'top of' the Run-time Client? Will the install routine uninstall the Run-time Client under the covers during the install of the App Dev Client? Also, is this type of 'upgrade' possible/supported during a...

I know that on DB2 V8.2 (on Linux) it wasn't possible to "upgrade" without reinstalling. But on V9.1, can I initially install Workgroup, and then if we need additional functionality can we buy Enterprise and apply the keys to an existing Workgroup installation ? Or do we need to reinstall ? I know you can't upgrade Express-C to a "paid" version, but that may just be

I'm almost ready to build an upgrade routine for a commercial app that will need to import data from an existing Access 97 back-end database to an Access 2007 back-end blank database. Ideally, it would be nice to have the program detect, on first launch, whether the back end database is blank, and ask the user if they want to begin a new database (putting them into the blank one), or import data from the previous version (the access 97...

Just curious if it's possible, and supported, to upgrade SQL 2005 from 32bit to 64bit. This is on top of Windows 2003 64bit. Trying to get the proper supported config for OM2k7 without blowing everything away. Thanks, JDP

I have built a Database to take care of everything a rental building requires: work orders, purchase orders, task scheduling and so on… it work great but wanted to make it more efficient. Here are some of the things I need to change and wanted to know if it is possible to do it in a way that would be bullet proof. I currently use the “Work Orders” portion of the database to create a record when a building resident requires work performed at...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
