But on V9.1, can I initially install Workgroup, and then if we need
additional functionality can we buy Enterprise and apply the keys to an
existing Workgroup installation ?
Or do we need to reinstall ?
I know you can't upgrade Express-C to a "paid" version, but that may just be
a special case.

the WSE license, and only create WSE instances? Then when you get an ESE
license, you already have the ESE code installed. I don't know if this

Well ... not entirely true. You can install ESE over WSE, and now you have
both. Uninstall/reinstall is often easier than install/partial-deinstall.

You can install WSE in one location, and ESE in another. And you can use
db2iupdt to jump the instance from the WSE copy to the ESE copy.

Once Yukon is released (whenever that might be) does anyone from MS have any
comment on licensing for Yukon and on SQL 2000.
I really don't think anyone with SQL 2000 licenses are going to upgrade
because the database admin or even the developer is going to convince
management it's worth the cost regardless if SQL server can do C# or VB.NET
stored procedures.
This is because the performance is terrible and Oracle has had Java stored...
