Does anyone know if Microsoft is planning on offering an upgrade for VS.NET
2003 users? I remember in the past dev tools had upgrades, but I don't know
if they plan on slashing that now or not (worried mainly because server OS's
don't have upgrade paths anymore, we tried to 'upgrade' from 2000 to 2003
and couldn't, had to purchase all new because of the license agreements) and
because of this don't want to have to respend thousands of...

I have a problem and I've been using a cheezy work around and was
wondering if anyone else out there has a better solution.
The problem:
Let's say I have a web application appA. Locally, I set it up as
C:\domains\appA. Locally, my IIS root points to C:\domains. I don't
point it to C:\domains\appA since if I have an appB under C:\domains I
wouldn't be able to get to it. So to access it via my browser I go to
localhost/appA.

I installed 7.4 from the FreeBSD ports collection (I'm running 4.9-RELEASE).
Did nothing special, just make && make install and all was well.
I now have updated my ports collection via cvsup and see that the 7.4.1 port
is available. So now I have several, very specific needs:
1) having now done some development in 7.4, I've decided I need to be able
to exceed the default limit of 16 arguments for plpgsql functions
2) I would like to...

I wrote a small data processing application that writes a summary of
several hundred files. I use drag and drop on a panel (Panel1) to grab
the absolute path to each of these files. Then I begin analyzing all of
the files. I noticed (on the same machine) that some user profiles
appear to abbreviate the absolute paths to these files thus breaking my
data loading mechanism. Does anyone know how I can programmatically
change this filepath...

When I upgraded to Server 2003, I get this error now in my asp script which
is saving a form to an asp database. Do I need to do something different
now? I have used FP to design my forms, and to do my data results pages. I
am now using sharepoint services also which I was not using previously.
The Include file '../_fpclass/fpdbform.inc' cannot contain '..' to indicate
the parent directory.

do I have to prefix every absolute path with document root to get it to
work?
For some reason I thought that prefixing a path with '/' or './' with make
it absolute w.r.t to document root but I guess not?
e.g., when I do
include './Scripts/AddNav.php';

I'm almost ready to build an upgrade routine for a commercial app that will
need to import data from an existing Access 97 back-end database to an
Access 2007 back-end blank database. Ideally, it would be nice to have the
program detect, on first launch, whether the back end database is blank, and
ask the user if they want to begin a new database (putting them into the
blank one), or import data from the previous version (the access 97...

I newly installed Windoz Vista on my machine. I am trying to upgrade
several VB6 ACTIVEX DLLs to VB.net. I tried to open the original VBG
in Visual Studio 2005. The VB Upgrade Wizard was automatically
launched and tries to convert the VB6 projects. None of the VB
projects in the group are converted. The wizard asked that these
projects to be opened in VB6 and be compiled suceessfully before
VS2005 can convert them. So I digged out my...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
