SQL 2005 32bit upgrade to 64bit possible?

Just curious if it's possible, and supported, to upgrade SQL 2005 from
32bit to 64bit. This is on top of Windows 2003 64bit. Trying to get
the proper supported config for OM2k7 without blowing everything away.

Thanks,
JDP

This should have been detailed on
ms-help://MS.SQLCC.v9/MS.SQLSVR.v9.en/instsql9/html/702359c4-6ca9-42a8-860c-a95a802898a1.ht m
in Books Online. However, I can't find a final word on this. It says that
you cannot upgrade from SQL 2000 32-bit to SQL 2000 x64.

But in lieu of the affirmative, my answer has to be no.

However, you can always move databases with backup/restore or detach/attach
from x86 to x64.

Hello, I could really use some help. I'm trying to install a python program on centos4 x86_64. When I run 'python setup.py' it ends up in /usr/lib64/python2.3/site-packages/ instead of /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages. It's a problem because the program I'm trying to install is a dependency for something that is only 32bit. How can I...

I need to detect whether the operating system I am running on (not the Python version) is 64bit or 32bit. One requirement is that I need to include support for non-Intel/AMD architectures. The 2 ways I have thought detecting 64bit are: 1. struct.calcsize("P") == 8 2. '64' in os.uname() I'm not convinced that either one of these is...

That is devellop dotnet on a 64bit machine and output 32bit program? 2) When later this year, all my clients are updgraded...

Hi, I would like to copy glibc/libgcc (in particular, libc.so. 6,libgcc_s.so.1) for a 32bit machine onto a 64bit machine. Would using the 32bit glibc/libgcc on the 64bit machine work? The reason I ask is that I've been getting the following error: Bin/libc.so.6: symbol _dl_out_of_memory, version GLIBC_PRIVATE not defined in file...

Hi all, I built an app with the "Platform target" of x86. Then I installed it as a Windows Service. When it's running, I can see in the Task Manager that the executable has "*32" following it, which I think means it's running in 32bit. But after I changed the log on account of the service, the "*32" disappeared and it's running in 64bit. Is...

I thought platform.uname() or just platform.processor() would have done it, but python returns an empty string on windows. Any ideas? ...
