Back-Up of DB2 on 32Bit Windows, Restore on 64Bit Windows

1 New Member
Platform: Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 Server
UDB DB2 v8.1.11

I have the task of Migration my DB server from a 32Bit HW to a 64Bit HW.
The DB2 software is installed on the local disks but the data files and logs for the DB are on a SAN.

What I think is the correct procedure is to take an off-line backup from my 32bit server, install the DB2 software on the 64Bit server and do a restore.
(Note: I am not changing the version of DB it stays at 8.2)

My problem is can the 'backup ABC to Z:' where Z is an LTO...
If my DB is too big to fit on one tape, will the DB2 backup tool prompt me for a new media or simply fail?

Any support would be greatly appreciated.

Yes DB2 will prompt you for a new cartridge when the current one fills.
Please read the DB2 command reference to ensure you initialize the tape and set the block size correctly.

Hello C programmers, Can someone tell me why ungetc can't sent back EOF, but it's sister function getc has no trouble sending it to us? For a file, this might not make a difference, but for an interactive terminal, it is probably nice to push EOF back (because to user doesn't want to provide an EOF twice). How is it getc can send EOF down it's pipe, but we can't send EOF down ungetc's pipe (especially when this pipe is the same)? ...

Is there a way to make the browser move back to the previous page via code behind on the server? The effect would be the same as the user clicking on the browser's back button. Thanks. -- moondaddy@nospam.com

I have two dropdown lists. Both have autopostback set to true. In both dropdowns, when you select an item from the list, it redirects to the Value property of the dropdown. Nothing fancy. Let's say you select 1 of the items, and are properly redirected. You press the back button. I have three servers providing two different functionalities: 1. After pressing the back button, the item you selected in the dropdown is still selected.

I'm developing an application that is a benefits enrolment website. The benefits can be of any type in any order as stored in a SQL server. On each page is a Back and Next button. At a certain point in the initialization of the app, I determine a navigational structure; what benefit is first, second, etc., therefore, which page to display first, second and so on. In session memory I store an array of page URL's and a single value...

Hi all, I'd like a page to be excluded from the back button history, that is, when a user hits their browser's back button, it never backs into this particular page. Can anybody please tell me how to do this? I thought perhaps there would be some kind of special meta tag that says something like "exclude me from browser's history", but have been

Currently I have a button that allows the user to "Close Company" - at the moment it doesn't do anything :D I would like the button to "disconnect" the back end then show my Open Company form. My question is: 1. Short of closing the application or deleting the linked tables, is there a way to disconnect the user's front end from the common back end using VBA? 2. Does disconnecting the user serve any purpose? I've read a lot of posts...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
