Customize Windows XP/2000 and Chipset Drivers Information

228 New Member
Hello Guys,
1. is it possible to customize windows installation cds so that applications (such as adobe reader) etc can be installed on the fly?

2. I work for a big ministry and i keep images of computers for reinstallation purposes. But now, I have run out of space and i was wonderin if it is possible to make a single image that can be installed on any machine? I guess that means dealing with chipset information but do you think thats at all possible?

Thanks,

Sami

Hi,
I can answer your first question. This is known as 'slipstreaming' and there are some applications available on the net for doing this. Try searching them. I never did it myself; just heard from a friend. Maybe you find this technique useful.

Bye.

Since the elitists in the Win 2000 Networking group wont help, I thought I'd ask here: I installed VS.NET 2003 yesterday on Windows 2000 Pro SP3. Since doing so, I have no internet connection. Also, I have no access to my home network. I've done everything I can think of to correct the problem, and I'm at a loss. Formating is not an option ATM, and i dont know it would happen any differently next time around anyway. Suggestions would...

I recently downloaded and installed (hopefully correctly) MSDE 2000 Release A. I previously, and still do, have the version of IIS that comes with XP Professional installed on my computer. I wanted MSDE 2000 Release A so that I could do database access using ASP from my websites, which are on my computer. When I went to my first test website, I recieved the following error: Error Type: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers...

Perhaps, there is no bigger sleazy company in the entire Maple Republic ( Canada ) than Matrox Graphics Inc. I paid $100+ through my nose circa 1999 for Matrox Millenium II and Mystique. It works well under NT4.0 however, a month ago I upgraded to Win 98. Guess what? The main feature in the Matrox Inc Video cards was their desktop, and

Hi We have an access db which records daily orders. We would like the orders to be downloaded to a windows mobile 2003 device via usb cradle. Drivers then take along the device and get signatures from customers when items delivered. Once drivers are back, the information to be synched back to the access db as drivers may have amended the order detail. How does one go about synching to/from mobile device? Are there any code examples...

I keep getting the same warning from OneCare, one is for Adware, the other is for a trojan, I clean both, but almost immediatly, I get the same warning? My Windows Defender is also shut down, not by me as I have no idea how to do this(or to turn it back on), but am still...

I know about the * * style="cursor: pointer; cursor: hand;" * * attribute of the <imgtag, but is there a way JavaScript can "load in" one's own graphic for such events?? How? TIA!

Prisoner at War meinte: (a) This has nothing to do with JS. (b) This is not a fallback. You just overwrite your custom-pointer property with the standard one. In your case you will *always* get a cursor: pointer. Small wonder...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
