Please tell us if you have an installation CD and what version of Windows that would be (and how old, what make, etc. this laptop is). Thank you.

Hi!

Doesn't Packard Bell give you at least a recovery CD? (I know, these things are awful, but they're better than nothing.) And maybe the model number would help. However, I guess it's a windows Problem, not one with the Laptop itself.

My guess is, that something went wrong with the registry. Can you get into Safe Mode? (Press F8 while Windows tries to start up, then choose "Safe Mode". You have to press F8 early enough however.) If so, try to recreate the systems state from a point, where it used to work properly. That might work.

Greetings,
Nepomuk

You'd think this was an occasionally asked question, but a search for previous related posts only turned up one from 1999, and that one was never anwered. So... When handling a keypress event, the terminal bell always rings (at least with Internet Explorer). While it's not a show-stopper, it can become annoying. Anyone have any tricks to silence the bell? Thanks in advance!

This question, I apologize, is more of a math question than it is an Access question - I'm almost certain. The bell curve is another name for the normal distribution, which is a common type of graph that has more or less the shape of a bell. "The Bell Curve" was also the title of a book, a controversial book back in 1994. It was about intelligence. If you graph scores on an IQ test on the horizontal axis, and number of people who got...

I recently insalled a bluetooth usb by IVT which says is compatible with MS XP. It works fine with my headset but when I'm on a call using skype my computer randomly reboots. The only help I could find from the error itself said it was a video problem and to turn the monitor's hardware acceleration off. This didn't make sense to me since the equipment is audio not video but I tried it and it did not work. After about a minute on the...

My computer is not loading completely. The blue screen appears right before the profiles show up and then it reboots. I have tried loading in safe mode, but that does not work either. 2 pieces of background info. 1. I was having problems with Anti-virus software for about a week and have been working with the vendor to get it reinstalled. 2. I had just installed a firewire card an hour or so before this started.

I have VS2005 VC++ dll that is been called from VC 6.0 code. When this app runs on a computer with 512MB, when the call to load this dll (LoadLibrary) the computer crashes and reboots automatically. The dll is only 84K size. I am completly confused. I increased the size to 1GB (I am using virtual machine) and the program works fine. Could someone shed some light in to this problem for me? Thanks.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
