cd/dvd causes system to reboots

I'm a rookie. No matter what I put in my cd tray, as soon as I close it, my
whole system reboots. If I leave the disk in while it reboots, and will
continually reboot until I open the tray and extract the disc.
I'm using windows xp home.
I've upgraded my firmware.
The cd/dvd that I have is .....HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H10N

Please help me.

You need to find a Windows XP group for your question. This is a .NET
programming group. Here's how to find the group you need:

As you appear to be using a web interface:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities...s/default.aspx

Click the + beside your language. then scroll down to Windows. In Windows,
find the category for Windows XP. Open it and find a group for
your question.

We (My team and I) are currently developing an application that works fine on 3 of our dev machines, but our 4th is having a problem. It's an old P3 733Mhz with 192MB RAM and running XP Pro. It runs the program we're developing just fine, until it tries to close. About 60-70% of the time, it will reboot the system unexpectedly. It reboots without delay, it appears that the program's main window is still opened at the moment it reboots,...

My application has a settings class that is serialized to save and deserialized to load. I'm having a problem where i catch the WM_QUERYENDSESSION event via WinProc to save my application's settings when a user logs out, reboots or shuts down the system. The behavior of XmlSerializer is that it creates temporary dll's to do the (de)serialization in the system's temp directory. The behavior of windows on a system shutdown is to purge...

I am looking for a networkwide messaging system to announce server reboots, etc. To implement various custom features, I would much rather roll my own than use an out-of-the-box type of app. Because my company has a very strict, industry regulated archival policy, I would like to avoid using email (which relies on the user having Outlook up and running anyway, not always a safe bet.) Using VB.NET 2.0, I've written an app that uses MSMQ...

Hello Gentle I am using System.Messaging.MessageQueue for creating Message Queue for Storing SMS. I work fine but if the computer is rebooted then it loses all the messages in it. I want to know is there any way that I may not lose the messages if the system reboots…? Please give your suggestion if anybody has got an idea about it. Thanks

My computer is not loading completely. The blue screen appears right before the profiles show up and then it reboots. I have tried loading in safe mode, but that does not work either. 2 pieces of background info. 1. I was having problems with Anti-virus software for about a week and have been working with the vendor to get it reinstalled. 2. I had just installed a firewire card an hour or so before this started.

My problem is system restore will run and restore points are created, but when I try to restore back to a earlier date, system restore starts, reboots my computer, and then I get the message that my computer could not be restored back to that point and that no changes were made. System restore is enabled, set to automatic, and restore points are being created. I looked for a SR. INF file to see if I could delete system restore and just...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
