I have about 300+ pieces of data representing wood shingle widths from random run-of-the-mill batches... how can I show a bell curve in Access???

MLH
This question, I apologize, is more of a math question than it is
an Access question - I'm almost certain.

The bell curve is another name for the normal distribution, which is a
common type of graph that has more or less the shape of a bell. "The
Bell Curve" was also the title of a book, a controversial book back in
1994. It was about intelligence. If you graph scores on an IQ test on
the horizontal axis, and number of people who got that score on the
vertical axis, you get the bell curve shape.

I want to do the same with the wood shake width data, so I do a
crosstab query in Access to count up all the 1" wide pieces, the
2" wide pieces ... 8", 9" etc...

Width Shake Qty
1 1
1.5 7
1.75 2
2 18
2.25 6
2.5 16
2.75 7
3 27
3.25 12
3.5 34
3.75 12
4 26
4.25 17
4.5 21
4.75 7
5 18
5.25 12
5.5 18
5.75 2
6 27
6.25 3
6.5 15
6.75 3
7 10
7.25 4
7.5 6
7.75 1
8 4
8.5 1
8.75 2
9.5 1

Then I plot it & get a normal distribution pattern, but its
ziggy zaggy. What I want is to do what you can do in
Excel & superimpose a trend curve over it. I've done
it there & it really does a good job. But in Access, I don't
know how its done. I have Access 2.0 and Access 97.
What are my options?

Why don't you just export the data to an Excel spreadsheet and do it from
there?

I did. Just like to stay in Access when I can.

One issue that comes up fairly often around here is the poor quality of the pseudo-random number generators supplied with many C implementations. As a result, we have to recommend things like using the high-order bits returned by rand() instead of the low-order bits, avoiding using rand() for anything that wants decently random numbers, not using rand() if you want more than approx. UINT_MAX total different sequences, and so on. So I...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
