Hello,
I'm looking to create a PHP script that will automatically generate an
index/menu/list (whatever) based on the PDF files that are within a
particular directory. I would like the script to be able to parse out the
title, description, author(s), and date from the documents, and use that
information to create the index.
Any suggestions on how to do something like this?

I am an XML author and I am needing to do some SGML work as well. I am
using James Clark's SP (SX) to transform my SGML source into an XML
source for use with XSLTs.
I am needing to write XSLTs for these SGML documents and it would be
nice to have at tool that can do one of these things:
1. graphically view an SGML DTD
2. Transform an SGML DTD into an XML DTD (I would rather not implement
it myself) for viewing with an XML DTD viewer...

I am trying to learn JS by studying existing codes. I have figured out
(for the most part) how to use buttons to cycle through the images.
The problem I'm having is (most importantly) I don't want all of the
images to be preloaded. I'm running a slideshow (actually, I guess
it'd be called a picture viewer) with over 30 somewhat large pictures.
On a dialup connection, it takes FOREVER to load.
Also, if possible, can JS autosize an image...

Hi,
Hopefully this is not too much offtopic.
I'm working on a FAQ. I want to make two versions of it, plain text and
HTML. I'm looking for a tool that will make a plain text doc out of the
HTML doc. The HTML version doesn't have anything fancy, just internal
links. So the tool must be able to delete internal links and anchors from
the HTML version, but leave external links in simplified form. That is, the
HTML version would say <a...

Hi,
Microsoft provides in visual stdio 6.0, a tool called API text viewer.
It is used to access the API related functions.
But, I am not come across any tools like this in .NET. Every time
when I need for a API declration (C# format), I have to go and search
in internet with the api name and get it from some other sample.
Any tool (like API text viewer) is there for access APIs in .NET

Hello everybody,
a while ago on one of the "big" DotNet websites (like GotDotNet) I stumbled
across a description of a tool that enables developers to work with features
like "Declarative Parameter Checking". I came up with this name but let me
tell you really quick what it was all about.
Let's say you have a method Equals:
public bool Equals(object o1, object o2)

I am looking for a good third party tool activex component that will allow
the user to open a pdf file, view the pdf file, ENTER DATA INTO PDF FORM
FIELDS, save the pdf file to disk WITH THE DATA, or EXTRACT the data entered
from each pdf form field programmatically. I have looked at a few:
ISedQuickPDF, Gnostice's pdfToolKit, and a couple of others. The problem is
mostly that few toolkits allow the edit of the pdf form fields and the...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
