I have now free time and money to do what I want :-)
I have some basic skills in programming (C, Pascal, Macromedia
Actionscript) but don't know exactly what to do in the world of programming.
And also I don't know exactly why would I learn Python rather than C#,
C++ or Perl. Basicaly I don't know where to start, if there is much to do or
if it is has it seems and there is software to everything nowadays and so
doesn't make sense to spend...

I've been looking for a Tk widget to render basic HTML (as a simple
way of building formatted text documents)......
Short of implementing a parser myself that would only ever cover a
very small subset of HTML I wondered if it would be possible to
resurrect part of the grail project for the job. (I don't want to
switch over to wx just yet before anyone suggests it).
I think viewer.py is where I need to be looking - when I try to just...

Been looking around to get ideas on how to make a TreeList (tree with
columns) from a dataset, and/or xml source.... But getting nowhere.
Any leads, articles that come to mind?
So far, been thinking that the solution is going to lie with some kind of
DataRepeater...but not sure. Has anybody ever heard of using a DataSet
where the records are not in Table format, but in a hierarchical XML format
(where a record has children records...

Hello All,
I'm wondering if there is something that already exists that can take
marked up text in some format (hopefully reStructuredText or HTML) and
can convert it into something that can be displayed with Tkinter (maybe
with Text), either dynamically or otherwise. Minimal functionality would
be simple formatting and hyperlink callbacks.
Any guidance or suggestions would be appreciated.

Does anybody know anything about Grail? I've been unable to get at
it, and I've tried on both Windows and Macintosh machines.

Does anybody know where I can download a WORKING version of the Grail web browser? The one at http://grail.sourceforge.com/ has so many errors and exceptions in it that I cannot possibly fix them all (although I managed to fix two of them; I was able to fix just enough so that it was able to display text files and very simple HTML files, instead of crashing before showing the window).
My operating system is windows, and I am using Python 2.4...

Hi
Spent the past week looking at CSS renderings of "liquid" 3-column
pages (with both Header and Footer that can also grow).
On testing, none of them seem fully cross-browser campatible.
In almost all of them, the left column seems fixed.
Page doesn't grow when content added to header. When it does, the
header overlaps the top of the columns.

Looking at various Holy Grail techniques for html layouts, I came across Faux Positioning Layout.
What I'm curious about is the differences between the two. I have no understanding of the Holy Grail, but have a working implementation of Faux Positioning (which may be a bit harder to do than the Holy Grail).
Both are compatible among various browsers, but are they really both the same thing? They both have negative margin-left css values,...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
