In Desperate need of PHP Help.

I am currently new to PHP and I am reading a book by Premier Press called
PHP Professional Projects. I am new to PHP, I heard it was better and
faster and way more flexible so far they have been right. I use to use ASP
and VB Script. But I am weaning my way from Microsoft.
I am currently trying to make php file upload field I have found Classes,
and programs that are suppose to do this but I can’t make them work. Also
if any one knows how to make the image once uploaded Resize and then make
a up thumbnail state and over thumbnail state that would be great. I just
have a client who is interested in this and I am working my tail off but
yet to get a file upload to work if anyone has any ideas or would like to
help I would be great full if they would Thank you.

Have you examined any of the documentation on the php.net website?
http://ca.php.net/manual/en/features.file-upload.php will help you for
file uploads...

I don't understand what you mean by "make up a thumbnail state and over
thumbnail state" I am guessing that you have an image and you want the
server to resize the image for you - For this, you can use the GD
functions (my preference and is available as standard with PHP) or
ImagMagick (non standard but very popular and considered by some to be
easier).

I don't meant to upset you, but you're "working your tail off" (your
choice of words) to get this project done for a client using skills
you're only just picking up is a bad idea... asking folk for an entire
solution is next to laziness... asking for assistance though is only
human.... If I, or someone else was to write the code for you, what
makes you think you could support it?

I've been told more than once that folk will *help* you with your code,
but they are unlikely to write your code for you... thus provide some of
your code here and some information on where it is failing... folk here
are, by and large rather friendly and will help direct you, but you'll
have to bring your own map.

Lastly, download the documentation (I prefer the .chm files for quick
reference/direction on PHP issues) at http://ca.php.net/docs.php

cheers

I also had an abortive download from PHP.NET as I could not configure Apache myself. The REAL problem is that PHPmyAdmin works and sees my test database Wines.... But my PHP program does not!

*** Sorry for the cross-posting, but this is an emergency *** My wife and I run a small web development company in Port Charlotte, Florida. We hosted our own clients on our own Windows web servers. Hurricane Charley came through and flattened the building our offices were located in. Fortunately, I had a bad feeling and decided to disconnect the two servers on Friday before the storm and bring them home with me.

Hi, Sorry this is a long message, but I'm getting desperate (and worried). I have a textbox (say, tb1) where the string is longer than the width of the box. If I'm coming from the previous textbox (tb0) (by tabbing or pressing enter or the down arrow), the text inside tb1 highlights and the cursor is at the end of the string (so that the beginning of the string isn't visible). If I type absolutely any key(s) other than Tab, Up, Down, or...

I am still working with no success on that client/server problem. I need your help. I will submit simplified versions of my problem so we can see clearly what is going on. My model: A client uses IE to talk with a server. The user on the client (IE) sees an ASP net page containing a TextBox. He can write some text in this text box and push a submit button.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
