When I run the vstudio.net upgrade wizard on a VB6 project, it bombs with
the following error:
"Upgrade failed: Exception occurred: The referenced component ListView is
missing a design time license."
Do I really have to install VB6 on my vstudio.NET workstation in order to
upgrade VB6 projects? Won't this install lots of VB6 junk on my system that
I'll never use? I really hope there's another way...especially since
ListView...

We have ported our VB 6 application into VB .NET but are still integrating with a few COM + applications written in VB6 running on our application server (Win 2000 Server). We have the proxies to link to the application server installed but we every now and then get a error when we try to make a call to a component running on the app server. My webserver calls a component on another server through DCOM, the component
goes to SQL, SQL raises the exception and here is what the client gets:
"Cannot find member name System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError"
I believe the issue is related to the fact that webserver runs the framework
1.1 and the component server has the framework 1.0

Hi life saver,
I am using excel component for the development.
The purpose is to connect to excel through the odbc
connection string. Then through the connection extract
data into a dataset and then save the data into a client
machine (Intranet) as excel page using the excel
component (using Excel = Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel;)
in the code.
Please help me. I have wasted so many days on this.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
