Hi Straight to the point - I don't understand why System.Array derives from IList (given the methods/properties actually on IList). When designing an interface you specify a contract. Deriving from an interface and only implementing some of it means something is wrong: either the interface specification is wrong e.g. not minimal or the derivation is wrong e.g. the type can't actually honour this contract.

I am using a DataSet as the DataSource of a DataList in my code. The SQL used to get the data from the database begins with: SELECT members.organization,artists.artist,artists.email,artists.website,members.email FROM members INNER JOIN artists ON members.memberid=artists.memberid WHERE Notice that both tables involved in the SELECT statement have a field named

Hi all, I may be missing something with how databinding works but I have bound a datasource to a control and everything is great, the control updates to reflect the state of my datasource when I update the datasource - awesome, but I have an issue with updating from a different thread. Here is my datasource, a person class that raises the PropertyChanged event: class Person : INotifyPropertyChanged {

Hi I'm pulling my hair out with a problem caused when DataBinding a DataSet to a web control. I first tried using a GridView but when that failed, I tried a Repeater. I'm getting the classic "'System.Data.DataRowView' does not contain a property with the name X" error message which suggests I'm not putting X in the SELECT statement. But this is not the case. If I set the GridView to AutoGenerateColumns="true", it works fine and all the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
