c++ program does not run from server drive

Hi

I succesfully finished a simple form program in VC express 2005. I
tested the program in another machine, after installing the runtime
libraries and .NET framework 2, and is working fine.

Now' i'd like to make the program available from the network server
drive to other users (after they install the runtime and .net framework
in their machines).

But the copied .exe does not start from the server drive, resulting in
an error screen before executing the program (it does it either from
the local development computer or from the other machine). The error
message doen't tell anything.

Any suggestion how to fix this?

Thank you,
Marcos

i'm not quite sure with that - i just saw something similar o the web day
before
but isnt that related to the acess rights and security?
if you run managed application from the network folder - different security
is applied to it..
try to check that....

you need full trust to load an assembly from a network location.

No you don't.

Rather, an executable loaded from a network doesn't receive full trust
permissions. Unless you've marked the appropriate security attributes on
your program, it will request full trust and be denied.

Hi, I'm trying to create a program similar to that of Google's desktop that will crawl through the hard drive and index files. I have written the program and as of now I just put the thread to sleep for 1 second after indexing a couple of files. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way that I could make so that the program will run at full speed only runs after the computer has been idle for a while. I've looked at the "nice" command...

Dear all, I am new to visual basic.NET and have recently finished my first program that works with our design package to create drawings. The problem I now have is that I have installed the program on the PC's that need it but I have just update the program to accommodate a new standard for the drawings. What I want to do is basically perform an upgrade on the current program. Can someone out there give me some guidance on how to do...

Hi, I have a C++ application that I have built using MS VC++ .NET. I would like to set it up/convert it for multiple users to run it from the web. What do I need to do to make this available to users. The scenario that I envision is a user connect to the web using a browser (eg. Internet Explorer), goes to a web page containing access to the program, registers for the program's use (eg. credit card info. etc, billing information etc),...

I have my SQL Server installation on drive c: and the databases on another drive. My c drive got corrupted and I am planning to restore it from an old backup. This means drive c will not be up to date. Is there anything that SQL Server saves in the registry or in its home folder that changes frequently? I am hoping that nothing does which means the old backup will be good enough. Although I think the default databases are in the c...

I try to run http://localhost/scroller/scrollertest.asp in my IE 6 browser. The asp program tries to connect to a MS Access 97 database. Hi! We built VB6 application to work with Reporting Services server. To connect to reporting server has been created a special assembly with .NET VS2003. While we execute our program on local machine, every thing works. But when we put the whole program on network drive, the VB6 program could not create required object from .NET assembly. Nothing we done were not useful to help to solve the problem. Does anybody have idea?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
