Running program from network mapped drive

Hi!

Have you met any problems with running C# program from network mapped drive?
Of course I have .net framework installed on both machines.

When I copy program file to local disk it works fine, but from network drive
it says: Unhandled exception :(
Thanx

When you run a program from a network drive it does not have all the rights
as when run from the local system .You can change the configuration using
the .NET configuration tools. Specifically, when run from a network drive I
believe it runs in "Local Intranet" zone as opposed to "My computer" zone
when run from local disk.

Hello, Im grabbing tables via VB code using visual foxpro ODBC drives. The tables directory is in a mapped network drive. The code works fine and does the job, however if the computer is idle for a while the network drive apears to have a red X on the icon and the drive becomes disconnected. this seems to effect the VB code from grabbing the tables. I get an error saying the specific table cannot be found. If i manually open the mapped...

I am working on an issue where and ASP.NET web application on one computer (A) needs to access files on a network mapped drive (B). This application uses as DSN on (A) that maps a proprietory ODBC driver to data on a (B). The DSN directory path points to mapped network drive mounted on (A). When the ASP.NET application reaches the point where the ODBC drive is called to fill a DataSet it throws the following exeption:

Can a vb program running as a serice not use network paths to do file/io? I can't seem to get my program to work with network paths and files. When I use local disk it works fine. When I run it as a none service program it works fine. I'm assuming that vb programs running as a service do not support network paths. Is that true? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I'm trying to create an admin page that can run miscellaneous scripts for our IT department. Currently, I'm trying to create a script that can map a network drive for a user (e.g. a form where I can input \\path\folder, drive letter, and domain\user). Is this possible? If so, can someone point me in the right direction? Thank you, Brian Nicholson

I posted this question on a different website but I didn't get a response that worked. If I run this code from my computers hard drive, C:\, it detects the networked mapped drive, J:\, just fine: Private Function FolderExists() As Boolean Return My.Computer.FileSystem.DirectoryExists("J:\Template_Alpha\") End Function ' Outputs: True

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
