WinForms and WinXP taskbar grouping

Wes
I am writing a windows forms application in C#. When the application is has
several instances running concurrently XP will normally group them (if the
option is turned on). The grouped applications taskbar button is then
labeled as (# Application Name) where # is the number of instances; however,
in my application when the instances are grouped together the taskbar button
is labeled as (#) and does not include the application name. How can I
affect the taskbar grouping button application name?

I set the application name using Text property of the Form class. My
application's name is normally in the form of 'My Editor', but when a
document is loaded it becomes 'My Editor - Document'; however, it is not an
MDI application. So it might be important to note that sometimes different
instances will have slightly different names. I did repro this effect even
when the instances all had the name of 'My Editor'.

Thanks for the help,
Wes

I know I can fill the screen in VB.NET by starting my window maximized and without a border. My question is; in VB.NET is there a way to enable/disable the taskbar much like doing the "always on top" feature? I would like my program to automatically "hide" the taskbar when running. Thanks. John

VS.Net 2003 V 7.1.3088 ..Net Framework V 1.1.4322 SP1 WinXP SP2 I have a WinForms project that I'm having trouble with. I have a custom user control ( all code based, no visual ) and another class that is a collection of multiple instances of the control. In ASP.NET, if I wanted to bind the data of the collection ( each control having it's own row in the grid ) it was not a problem. I was also able

I am developing an application which will have one master window and one or more subordinate windows, much in the same vein as Outlook, where you have the main Outlook window, and then any open message/meeting/etc windows. Now, when there are so many windows open that XP starts grouping applications on the Taskbar, the Outlook windows get grouped under a single taskbar button with a caption of "Microsoft Office Outlook" and the number...

Hopefully someone here will be able to point me in the right direction. In my C# application I have several forms which get a taskbar button when open. These buttons appear correctly with proper form name and application icon. however when the taskbar automatically groups the buttons together, the group button has no name, and the icon changes to the basic .exe icon. Is there a way to explicitly set the application group name and...

I'm having an issue with a .NET 2.0 winforms application. The application runs in the taskbar, at all times querying a webservice, and when the webservice returns data, it prints out that data in a certain format. This works fairly well for quite a while, until suddenly the application stops being able to print. Restarting the application tends to fix this issue, but that is not a

By setting a custom icon for a mdb and setting it also to be shown in any form it is successfully used in the taksbar when I open the database and one or two single forms. However, as soon as I open some more forms, the icons get grouped on the taskbar, but with the generic icon, not with his custom icon. Does somebody know how to solve this (without disabling the grouping function of the taksbar)? Thanks

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
