several instances running concurrently XP will normally group them (if the

Hi,
I'm building an application in VB.NET that can only be started if the
available desktop space is sufficient. This means that when the user starts
the application it has to check 2 things:
1. Does the screen resolution comply to the minimum resolution?
2. What's the height of the taskbar?

I'm trying to write a program that will lock down the system. I want to
hide the start button and taskbar. I found code using ShowWindow &
FindWindow but they fail to work.
Butttonhwnd = FindWindow("Shell_TrayWnd", "")
Butttonhwnd = FindWindowEx(Butttonhwnd, 0, "Button", Nothing)
ShowWindow(Butttonhwnd, BUT_HIDE)
Anyone have any idea...

I know I can fill the screen in VB.NET by starting my window maximized and
without a border.
My question is; in VB.NET is there a way to enable/disable the taskbar much
like doing the "always on top" feature? I would like my program to
automatically "hide" the taskbar when running.
Thanks.

I am developing an application which will have one master window and
one or more subordinate windows, much in the same vein as Outlook,
where you have the main Outlook window, and then any open
message/meeting/etc windows.
Now, when there are so many windows open that XP starts grouping
applications on the Taskbar, the Outlook windows get...

By setting a custom icon for a mdb and setting it also to be shown in any form it is successfully used in the taksbar when I open the database and one or two single forms.
However, as soon as I open some more forms, the icons get grouped on the taskbar, but with the generic icon, not with his custom icon.
Does somebody know how to solve...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
