Acces Icon and taskbar grouping error?

6 New Member
By setting a custom icon for a mdb and setting it also to be shown in any form it is successfully used in the taksbar when I open the database and one or two single forms.

However, as soon as I open some more forms, the icons get grouped on the taskbar, but with the generic icon, not with his custom icon.

Does somebody know how to solve this (without disabling the grouping function of the taksbar)?

Thanks

Hmm, strange and new to me.
Did you set the database icon in the database properties and also in the same folder as the database resides?

Hi Nico,

The ico file is in the folder of the mdb and is working right in the access window and in every form corner. It works also as taskbar icon for the database and single forms as long they are not grouped.

When the taskbar icons get grouped, all the windows keep the custom icon but the the main task said: "6 Microsoft Office Access" with the default access icon.

Thanks in advance

Hmm, I guess you're out of luck this time :-(
The only remaining option I see is to do some "heavy" coding using the Windows .dll's to hook into the Operating system. Not easy and something I try to avoid...

I am writing a windows forms application in C#. When the application is has several instances running concurrently XP will normally group them (if the option is turned on). The grouped applications taskbar button is then labeled as (# Application Name) where # is the number of instances; however, in my application when the instances are grouped together the taskbar button is labeled as (#) and does not include the application name. How...

Hi, I have a C# program that changes the notifyIcon during the program. What I have noticed is that sometimes when the program is over the old icon will still be in the system tray. But when i move over the icons in the taskbar the taskbar will immediately update itself and clear the old icon away. I was just wondering if this is normal or if I am supposed to "force" an update of the taskbar system tray icons somehow?

Dear my friends, I have been helped by many C# gurus here, thank you very much. My small application can help you fetch some good pictures from Internet. You can get it from http://members.rogers.com/5725brian/i_want_images/IWantImages1.0.zip. No virus guarantee, nothing will harm your computer, trust me. Have fun to use it. But I still have some simple questions. When I run this program, it will display a icon on taskbar. But this...

Hi: My application creates multiple forms, all of which appear in the taskbar. Because I have my Windows XP configured to "Group similar taskbar buttons", the multiple forms get put into the same group on the taskbar. Two problems I am running into: 1) the icon - each form's icon is correct, but when stacked in a group,

I am in the process of developing a Windows Service which will: (1) monitor multiple network shares; (2) marshal text file transfers into an SQL Server 2000 instance; and (3) provide messaging services via email and a customized event log viewer. An additional goal is to have the service provide a visual status indicator via an icon to be located in the Taskbar status area. The NotifyIcon component appears to be a logical candidate and worked...

Hi All, I'm running MySQL 5.0.15-nt over WinXP-Pro/SP2. I just got "My Definitive Guide to MySQL 5", which I find very helpful. It suggests that there should be a "MySQL" icon in the Taskbar.I see none. It suggested unchecking the "Hide inactive icons" in the TaskBar Properties dialog. I followed that suggestion, but it only did by

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
