I'm trying to install the dotnet framework 1.1 on a Windows 2000 Pro, SP 4
box. I've downloaded dotnetfx.exe and am installing from c:\temp.
This is the error message that I get: Error 1606. Could not access network
location %ALLUSERSPROFIL E%\Start Menu\Programs\A dministrative Tools. The
folder exists and I've given full permission to it to everyone, so I don't
think this is some kind of security issue.

I am building a new setup on an XPPro Laptop running SP2.
Having installed VB6 and am now installing .Dot Net 2003. The installation
completes the installation of the prerequisites. I have tried it with the
..Dot Net Framework 1.1 from Windows Update and on the .DotNet Framework on

the dotnet framework and the mdac packs that verify if any of that
last 2 are install in the system. I mean: if the SO have the dotnet
framework but not the mdac_typ... the install step go to the mdac_typ
phase... and then install the application.

My WindowsApp is using only few of the .NET framework .DLL files. When I
install my app on the clinet machine, I just want to install only
required/used .DLL files of the framework not the whole framework. Because
..NET framework's isze is too big (20 MB like). And after installing it
expands up to 100MB. etc. with all ASP.NET blah blah...Stuff
