installing release version

Hi all, I have a web server running an older beta version of the .net 2.0
framework redistributable package. Are there any documented steps to
un-install that and re-install the newer version? I dont have any other
products like VS etc. installed on it. Just the framework.

TIA!

AFAIK, you just use the control panel add/remove programs for framework
2.0. If aspx files stop working on IIS after the uninstall, use
aspnet_regiis.e xe to re-register the script mappings.

Hi Param,

I Agree with KJ that we can just use the "Add/Remove program...." to remove
the beta version of .net framework 2.0. After that, just install the new
RTM version of .net framework 2.0 and check the IIS to see whether it is
configured correctly for ASP.NET 2.0.

One of my development PC's died, and I need to have legacy VS and VS.Net installed at the same time. On the now dead PC, I had VS6 installed prior to installing VS.Net. This worked just fine. On my working PC, I already have VS.Net installed, but not VS6. My question, will installing the older VS6 with VS.Net already installed give me problems with VS.Net. Or should I first remove the VS.Net, install VS6, then re-install VS.Net? Gerald

Hi I have an Outlook add-in solution which includes a setup project. If I install the Outlook add-in by right clicking on the setup project and sleeting Install then the add-in gets installed fine in Outlook. However if I use the setup generated in the setup project Release folder then even though setup runs and finishes, the Outlook Add-in does not appear in Outlook. What is the problem and how can I fix it? Thanks
