Seeking a Programmer/Writer

essential, developer-oriented, solution-based documentation for a
programming audience. This includes writing sample code to demonstrate the
use of the language and libraries; working with feature-team members to
gather and ensure quality of technical content; writing clear, technically
accurate instructions for use of the product; and working with editors and
other User Education staff to provide high-quality documentation.
Qualifications include programming experience in C++, preferably in a
production environment; demonstrated writing abilities; proven
organizational ability; proven problem-solving skills; demonstrated teamwork
skills; a willingness to take on large challenges; and a passion for

I am seeking some kind of tool that I can use for GUI prototyping. I know how to use Visual Basic, but since a lot of software is being coded in Java or C++, I'd like to learn a Java or C++ -based tool. Back when I took my Java and C++ classes (two or three years ago), the available tools -- at least the ones I could find -- were still not as easy, not as "drag-and-drop", as Visual Basic. Has that changed? Is there some software out...

I'm getting the following message when I run my Perl script that uses the XML::Writer module: "Processing instruction target begins with 'xml' at .../makeconf/LW/LWTest.pm line 75" The pi() statement is almost identical to the example for the module at cpan.org. In fact, I tried replacing my use with the example and got the same result. Can anyone tell me why I'm getting this warning, even though I'm getting the correct output?

I am a full-time freelance writer. I am seeking an established, professional web designer who has designed more than one successful website for freelance writers. The individual needs to be able to do the whole job including content, design, graphics and logo. I may want some input or to supply text to work with for the content for obvious reasons. They need to be able to demonstrate that the sites they have done for writers have been...

What makes a good C/C++ programmer? Would you be surprised if I told you that it has almost nothing to do with your knowledge of C or C++? There isn't much difference in productivity, for example, between a C/C++ programmers with a few weeks of experience and a C/C++ programmer with years of experience. You don't really need to understand the subtle details or use the obscure features of either language

This is a combo request for advice and advertisement. I'm sure there must be a forum out there where I can find people who would freelance simple databases in MS Access... Where would I find this forum and/or what are keywords that I would search for? I'm a former (very former) MS Access 2.0 programmer who has long gotten out of it and can't remember squat. Thanks, Bill

I'm learning how to build a website. So far I've gotten pretty good with HTML, CSS, and Paint Shop Pro, and I'm currenly learning the basics of Javascript. I'm hoping, eventually, to build and run an online publication that will change content daily and have extensive archived articles, cross-referenced by subject area(s). What other languages would it make sense for me to learn? CGI, Perl, PHP, Ajax, SQL are all Greek to me. I do...

I wish head first labs would come out with a php book or I would recommend them. As far as books go, I did find one by Peter Lavin(sp?) but I can't remember then name, it was OOP php oriented. I haven't found many, it's better to play around and learn that way. As far as IDEs, if you have the money, Zend studio is the way to go but I wouldn't recommend the version for Eclipse as I use it at work and it crashes for me alot. An...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
