I downloaded some code from www.logix4u.net that gives easy access to the parallel port while using windows XP. The example that came with the code was for vc++ 6.0 and included an entire project. My compiler is vc++7.0 and it had to convert the project and then I was able to successfully compile and test the code which worked fine. HOWEVER..... ever since compiling and running this code, every new project that I create using the win32 console...

Is there a way to create an "item template" (File | Export Template) where
it is only available to the current project? I mean, a lot of the time (most
of the time I would say) "item templates" only make sense in the project
they were created in... and not have them pollute the generic "Add New Item"
dialog box for projects where they make no sense.

For didactical purposes I'm trying to create a C Template Item (an
empty *.c file) (the header template file is already included) and a C
empty project with all the settings to allow only C programming.
Following the instructions of some articles I read, i should be able to
export my template item by selecting a c file I previously created (and
included in a C project) and by clicking on Export Template... that is
disabled!!

Sorry if this is the wrong group.
We have many C# project files at my company. I would like to force certain
settings across all project files. For example, enable the documentation
build. There are other examples.
Is there any way to create a "master" project file that all other project
files reference? Kind of like project file inheritance. :)
It becomes rather troublesome to manage 100+ project files.

Hi,
Is it possible to store the project name in an Item Template?
I can use $safeprojectname$ in a Project Template, and the correct
name is replaced. However, if I do the same in an Item Template, it is
not replaced. I'm using VB.Net in a Web Application Project in VS 2005
SP1.

Hey all , I wanted to create a project or item template in C# such
that when I use that template a parameter wizard comes up asking for
values. I know how to create the template without implementing the
wizard, i.e., work the parameter replacement using the
<CustomParameterskeyword in XML.
So any hints or suggestions towards the procedure to having the
parameter replacement wizard (a GUI of some sort) would be greatly
appreciated,

I have a project that I designed to be a "template" for other projects. It
has all of the authentication and security functionality but is otherwise an
empty project.
How can I create a new project from this "template" ? Do I have to create
an empty project and then import everything? I've always found it difficult
to rename a project.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
