I am having a problem with the ostream operator in templated classes
that I wrote (I'm using the Borland compiler), and I'm certain that
the templates are the problem because when I remove the templating
completely everything works perfectly. Here is the error message:
Error: Unresolved external 'operator <<(std::basic_ostream<char,
std::char_traits<char> >&, const BinomialTree<int>&)' referenced from

Hi, I'm using the Borland compiler and I've created two templated
classes in which I've overloaded the ostream << operator. However, when
I try and use the operator on objects of either class I get the
following error:
Error: Unresolved external 'operator <<(std::basic_ostream<char,
std::char_traits<char> >&, const BinomialTree<int>&)' referenced from

Hi there,
I have built a DLL in Visual C++ 6. When I build the DLL it builds fine for
the debug version of the DLL (and this DLL works fine), however, I seem
unable to build a Release version of the DLL. If I do a 'Batch Build' and
select both Debug and Relase versions for building it will build the debug
version but throws up errors for the Release version. For example, the output
I get for a Batch Build is this -

Hey,
I just downloaded Visual C++ 2005 Express, and I'm reading through a
book called "Visual C++ .NET Step By Step", which was made for 2003.
Just so you know where I'm getting this example.
When I build this code, I get the following compile error.
1>c:\documents and settings\editing\my
documents\alex\c++\animal\animal\animal.cpp(6) : fatal error C1190:

For didactical purposes I'm trying to create a C Template Item (an
empty *.c file) (the header template file is already included) and a C
empty project with all the settings to allow only C programming.
Following the instructions of some articles I read, i should be able to
export my template item by selecting a c file I previously created (and
included in a C project) and by clicking on Export Template... that is
disabled!!
How can I...

Sorry if this is the wrong group.
We have many C# project files at my company. I would like to force certain
settings across all project files. For example, enable the documentation
build. There are other examples.
Is there any way to create a "master" project file that all other project
files reference? Kind of like project file inheritance. :)
It becomes rather troublesome to manage 100+ project files.

When creating a new VB Web Application Project with VS2008, there are several
settings (compiler settings, option strict, etc) that appear both in the
web.config file and "My Project". I'm wondering what takes precedent, what
the benefit of using one vs. the other is, and what happens if they conflict?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
