I'd like to purchase Visual C# .Net for learning purposes only since it's a
lot cheaper than Visual Studio (note that I'm a very experienced C++
developer). Can someone simply clarify the basic differences. Ok, Visual
Studio has C++, VB and J++ thrown in plus some extra bells and whistles (I
already have some minimal experience) but are both...

Hello all,
I was considering ordering the 60 day trial of VS.NET,
then I saw the specs for install which stated a Pentium
II class machine @ 450 Mhz. I meet all of the other
requirements with ease, but mine is a PII-400, so I am
now wondering if this is just a recommendation, or if
the installer will check the processor speed and not...

Hi all, I'm afraid this is the second posting of this information as I didn't get a response on the previous post. I will try to shorten my message (i.e. be more concise) in the hopes that it will make it easier for someone (i.e. a Microsoft person) to digest the information and respond to it. I am a C++ and Java developer with over 3 years of...

I know this has been asked many times before, but I have seen postings about
problems so wanted to clear it up for sure.
I have Windows XP Pro.
Already have installed Office 2003 and Visual Studio .net 2003 trial.

Hey,
I'm a student from Belgium, and on my stage we have to work with SQL
Reporting Services. One of the requirements is Visual Studio .net. So we
ordered the trail version a week ago and installed it on our computers (2).
Then we found out that Reporting Services didn't work on our OS. So we
installed it on a Windows 2003 server. One day...

Can I update to Frameworks 2.0 so I can install Microsoft SQL 2005
Server Express Edition or should I keep 1.1 and Install SQL Server 2000

Best regards

Hello,
I'm having some problems installing Visual Studio 2005.
I'll briefly explain what's the history of the problem here.
First I installed VS 2005 beta 2.
I uninstalled it later via the Windows Uninstall Tool you can download.
Then I installed Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition ENU. This was a trial
version for 180 days.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
