Installing Visual Studio 6 AFTER Visual Studio 2003 trial and Office 2003 - Is it safe?

Hi there,

Summary: Installing Visual Studio 6 AFTER Visual Studio 2003 trial and
Office 2003 - Is it safe?
I know this has been asked many times before, but I have seen postings about
problems so wanted to clear it up for sure.
I have Windows XP Pro.
Already have installed Office 2003 and Visual Studio .net 2003 trial.

I now want to install Visual Studio 6.

Am I asking for problems by doing this?

Any precausions I should take before hand?

Kind regards

Dave

I have done it both ways without issue. Release software is not the issue.
Installing betas is where you normally end up with a lot of trouble.

The only thing I could even remotely see getting messed up is Office, and
Office 2003 has the ability to heal if something critical is changed.

Hi, I have a development machine with Visual Studio .Net 2003 which, as far as I know, targets the 1.1 .Net Framework. Now I need to open some solutions that were created in another machine with Visual Studio .Net 2002 (against the 1.0 Framework). I have already read:

I am not a .NET developer. I want the Developer's Edition of Visual Studio for use with my Access2000 databases. Does anyone have a clue as to where to find it - my office manager says only .NET is available from any websites she's searched. Anybody have a used copy they'd like to get rid of? Is/should it be impossible to get hold of this product? My understanding is that .NET doesn't offer that much as far as Access development is...

Hello, When I installed Visual Studio .NET 2002 on a .NET Server trial version at the office it said the product had incompatibilities with .NET Server. Has anybody had any problems? Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
