Hello,
I'm looking to create a PHP script that will automatically generate an
index/menu/list (whatever) based on the PDF files that are within a
particular directory. I would like the script to be able to parse out the
title, description, author(s), and date from the documents, and use that
information to create the index.
Any suggestions on how to do something like this?

Hi all,
I'm starting a new project to develop an Open-Source EAI server in Python
and I'm looking for motivated developpers and testers.
It is inspired by Open Adaptor (www.openadaptor.org), but aims to be easier
to use and more powerful.
I've developped yet a first alpha that contains several components:

Total voters: 55 (with 3 votes each)
Votes for each choice or group of choices:
Any J 81
J2 78
Any C 40

I am looking for a good solution on how to implement data access in an
application so that there is a clean separation between the data access
layer, the business layer and the GUI layer. I am looking for a robust
solution for a major application. Almost every developer seems to come
up with a completely different solution. While many of them are not
bad, I really want a very good one.
My database is SQL Server 2000 and I am using Visual...

Hello,
MSDN (amongst other places) is full of helpful advice on ways to do data
access, but they all seem geared to wards enterprise applications. Maybe
I'm in a minority, but I don't have those sorts of clients. Mine are all
small businesses whose sites will never reach those sorts of scales. I
deal with businesses whose sites get maybe a few hundred visitors per
day (some not even that much) and get no more than ten orders per day....

I'm making some changes in poll module. I don't know which method of
storing options of poll is better. The main data of polls are in POLLS
table.
Speed and efficiency is the most important issue. There are 2 methods:
1. Storing options in ANSWERS table and executing 2 queries to get
poll's data and options. Number of records connected with a poll in
that table is equal to number of poll's options.

hi,
I'm looking for an open source memory pool. It's for use on an
embedded system, if that makes any difference. Something with garbage
collection/defragmentation would be nice. It should have the ability
to allocate different size chunks of memory not just a single size. It
should error check for double free, etc. And it should be usable by a
mixture of C and C++ subsystems.
If I get that, I'm happy. Thank you very much.

ONU (Optical Network Unit) is one of the key components for providing high-speed Internet services. Its primary function is to act as an endpoint device located at the user's premises. Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
