Hi all,
I want to get your opinions on how to increase available/free memory and
performance on a heavy volume database server.
I have MySQL 4.0.13 running on RH 7.2 replicated to another RH 7.2 using
same MySQL version.
Recently our master database server (2 AMD Cpu + 2Gb memory + 2Gb swap
space) started to suffer from memory outages because of heavy load.
During day available free memory is changing from 200Mb to 5Mb and when

Hi,
I have had a site working for the last 2 years and have had no problems
until at the weekend I replace my database server with a newer one. The
database migration went like a dream and I had the whole db changed over
in 1 hour.
Since the upgrade I have been getting the following error message

I have created an MDC table using UDB ESE v8.1 fixpack 6 on AIX 5.1.
The table is organized by 3 columns with a product of 100 * 3 * 5
values -- only 1500 values. When I try to use the load utility to
insert only 5000 rows of data, the load fails in the build phase with
an SQL03011C. I see messages in the diag log that the utility was
unable to obtain memory for the sortheap. However, I see no evidence
of memory constraint on the system...

We need some advice: We are thinking of upgrading our Access database
from Access 2000 to Access 2004.
How stable is MS Office 2003? (particularly Access 2003).
We are just a small company and this is a big decision for us(!) It's
not just the money it's committing to an new version of Access!

After uppgrading from .NET v1.1 to .NET v2.0 we ca see massive usage of disc
space(10 GB) in a subfolder in the following folder:
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files
IIS6 on Windows 2003 server web edition.
This site contains a few hundred page and approximately 50 concurrrent
users. The amount of data in the Temporary ASP.NET Files has increased
with 2 GB within last 2 hours. We dont understand why?

I'm using VS.NET 2003 with Framework 1.1. I want to upgrade to VS.NET
2005 and Framework 2.0. I'd like to hear comments from people that
have moved to the new platform with final releases of VS.NET and the
framework. I'm interested in any installation and code migration
issues you may have had.

Hi,
I have a VB.NET (2.0) application that integrates with Outlook 2003. I have
windows XP SP2.
The users had Windows 2000, and Office 2000. They upgraded (!) to Office
2003.
But:
- an action that takes 0,5 seconds on my pc, takes them 4-5 seconds
- an action that takes 2,5 seconds on my pc, takes them 8-9 seconds
