Hello,
I have noticed that when using JavaScript to create a page, the sizes of
the text input form elements come out bigger than the size I am trying to
set them to. I don't know if it matters, but I am using IE6...
For example: if I create a text input with a size of "1" using straight
HTML, and then type into it, I can see 2 characters at a time. But when I
use JavaScript's 'document.write()' function to create the same text...

This method requires that your pages are PHP enabled and you have mySQL.
Although I suppose you could also use PHP sessions (not cookies as they're
client editable). You could actually use any server side scripting language
such as Perl or ASP and any database like MS SQL Server. I prefer PHP and
MySQL.

I want to dynamically create a JavaScript file and cache it on the client
for re-use. I know how to write javascript to a web page from the code
behind, but I don't know how to actually create a file such as
MyNewScript.js and then cache that on the client so all the pages of that
session can use it. Can this be done?
Thanks

Using javascript closures to create singletons to ensure the survival
of a reference to an HTML block when removeChild() may remove the last
reference to the block and thus destory the block is what I'm hoping to
achieve.
I've never before had to use Javascript closures, but now I do, so I'm
making an effort to understand them. I've been giving this essay a

I have been trying for several days to create a peer-to-peer
replication among three servers. I first created the publication on
Server A, enabled it for peer-to-peer to peer on the publication

servers B and C. Once restored, I tried to Configure Peer-to-Peer
Topology from the right click menu on the publication in SQL Management

Does javascript install any sort of "cookies" that allows a site to
uniquely identify you every time you visit, regardless of wether or not
you disable normal web browser cookies?
An anonymous web browsing utility I use states that you are not truly
anonymous unless you turn off things such as java, javascript, and some
other applications. This being because they somehow have the ability to
find their way back to the originating site...

Can someone point me to sample code for building subscription services
(where someone pays either up front for a number of uses, or per use) in
vb.net/asp.net? I want to convert a client-based vb.net application that
doesn't have subscription services to a web-based service that does.
Thanks

Okay, I think I'll soon be getting all the JavaScript/CSS/DHTML-
related "site mechanics" wrapped up...at least until I decide on real
Ajax-style interactivity next year!
But until then, I'd be interest in strategies for dealing with those
visitors who don't have JavaScript enabled...how I can not only give
them the same access, but not make that access "corny"?
Like, for example, I want a modal window to pop up on a
hyperlink...but...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
