How do I actually convert different video format (avi,mpeg,mp4, etc)
file to a flash format and view it as flash? People would upload their
video files on my server and my server will do the conversion
automatically to flash format. When people preview the video files,
they would see them in flash. I am interested to use visual c++ to do
the conversion. How is it done?

There are some Mac tools to convert pretty much any given video source
to a Flash video file (.flv) but I'm wondering if there is any way to
do it using a Linux platform tying in to a PHP web system? I.e. I'd
like to have video files submitted by users which are then
auto-converted to .flv files.

So I tried to do my father a favor and convert his advertisements
to .flv and place them on his website. With Flash being $600, I found
an open-source .flv player and configured it. So today he called and
stated it isn't working with IE.

Am trying to add a "video" to a webpage which is based on a template containing a javascript menu. The site has hundreds of pages all based on this template and the menu works fine

In IE7 it works fine. The video shows and the dropdowns of the menu work correctly.
In Mozilla Firefox, although the video works the dropdowns do not show.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
