You can create indexes on DGTTs, and you would use the SESSION schema.
You cannot create MDC "indexes" on DGTTs, as the syntax to create MDCs
is part of the CREATE TABLE statement. Lastly, you cannot CLUSTER
indexes on DGTTs. See the entries under "CREATE INDEX" and "DECLARE
GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE" the SQL Reference Volume 2 for more details.

Hi, I am creating a global temporary table that is session-specific. I insert a BLOB into this table, and then select the BLOB from this table into a ResultSet. The ResultSet sees this BLOB object, and I am able to get the binary input stream from this blob. However, when I invoke InputStream.read(byte) on this input stream, I get the following exception: java.io.IOException: ORA-01410: invalid ROWID

Helpful folks, Most of my previous experience with DB2 was on s390 mainframe systems and the optimizer on this platform always seemed very predictable and consistent. Since moving to a WinNT/UDB 7.2 environment, the choices the optimizer makes often seem flaky. But this last example really floored me. I was hoping someone could explain why I get worse response time when the optimizer uses two indexes, than when it uses one. Some context:

My problem is: I want to create an index to any of the available picture-groups. This index is a table of thumbs with a scrollbar. If you click on the thumb, you get the full picture displayed. This table must be created from scratch. (The function must be reusable, and speed up the load-time: only one of the various possible picture-groups will be indexed. any other will be loaded by request. The picture-groups are defined in flexible...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
