Hello,
I am trying to put up a page for my students for them to be able to enter
their class number into a field and instantly get a personalized text
message. (ie student number 5 enters "5" and gets a message like
"Congratulations on your homerun in Kickball Bobby!"
Can this be done using a form and if so would that be the best way to do it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a database with 2 users - 'dbo' and 'user1'.
Currently:
=> 'dbo' is tied to login - 'login1'
=> 'user1' is not tied to any login.
I want to change the login tied to the database users to:
=> 'dbo' tied to no login
=> 'user1' tied to 'login1'

Dear all,
I'm having a problem here. Suppose I have a database which
store the username and password, the user must login in
order to use the system. After login, I will store the
username in a session "HttpContext.Current.Session
("UserLogin")". The problem is, how do I check whether the
session has expired in the web.config <authentication> ?
And the user can't simply type in the URL in the address
bar before going thru the login.

Hi all,
I have an ASP.NET app that connects to SQL server to
store and retrieve data, and users may upload and download
files from the server using System.IO namespace's functions.
In my machine.config file i have writed "SYSTEM" as user for
ASP.NET (into the process model section). For security reasons
the directories where users upload and download files are protected
whit NTFS permssions that allows access only for Administrators.

Using asp.net 1.1. vb.net 2003.
I am trying to connect to a remote sql server 2000 on a virtual machine
running windows 2000 server. I can connect through the server explorer in
visual studio, but cannot connect through code. I have done it before and
can not do it now; I don't know what changed. (I also cannot connect to
local Access database through code though I can from server explorer.)

I am currently editing a script.
I need to get user input such as please enter the 8 digit code.
The next part of the script runs but inserts the 8 digit code into a spot in the script.
I thought I could maybe get the user to enter the 8 digit number. The script could then send the user input to a file, and then read from that file. If it could insert the user input into the spot exectly that would be even better.
