When do they plan on making this essential utility USEFUL? In its current
form its pointless. How could they let this out? Its useless.

I am attempting to add an Editor attribute to an IListSource derived class
(specifically it's a typed DataSet). It appears that IListSource over rules
any Editor attribute. Is there any way that I can get my Editor attribute
to be used?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I've got a plugin architecture system that calls LoadFrom to load the .dlls
in a specific folder and it works fine and dandy, imports everything, my code
can create objects from types found in the loaded .dlls
HOWEVER, One issue i've not been able to solve is that, in some of the
classes, I've got custom Type Editors that do not function when I try to edit
them via a PropertyGrid that is on my application's main form.
Whenever I create...

In C++ an overridden virtual function in a derived class must have the exact
same signature of the function which is overridden in the base class, except
for the return type which may return a pointer or reference to a derived
type of the base class's return type.
In .NET the overridden virtual function is similar, but an actual parameter
of the function can be a derived reference from the base class's reference
also.
This dichotomy...

I have my own data type, and I want to create a property
page (dialog) for it.
Basically, I want to display my object using the
PropertyGrid control. If I have a variable of type "font",
then the property automatically launches the Font dialog
when I click on that property... I want to create a screen
like this, but for my data-type instead.
I don't know where to start... I can't find anything on

There seem to be plenty of Javascript implemented WYSIWYG editors for
editing rich text in a web browser, but I haven't been able to find one
that shows line numbers. Even if that was the only enhancement over
the standard textarea object it would be great for my needs.
Does anyone know of such a widget?
Thanks,

I have worked with application settings in VS2005 and C# for awhile, but
usually with standard types. I have been trying to store a custom
container/class/type in an application setting and I have seen erratic
results. I am aware of one known defect where user classes do not show up in
the list of types on the Property/Settings page in the visual designer and I
am wondering if I am encountering some other peculiar issue, or if there are...

Hey Fellas (and gals),
I have several C++ and Java process that an employee runs on text files. Including some edits now being done in, believe it or not, Windows Notepad.
I'm looking into building a program (Java) that we can port these processes into. I'm envisioning a net-beans or eclipse type editor with these apps built in so that all the operator has to do is select one of the process to apply to the current file, and also be able...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Adolph will...
