Problems with DataBinding not updating

I have a textbox bound to a column in a DataTable using DataBinding. I have a
Next button and in the Click Event it moves the current position of the
CurrencyManager to the next position. The CurrencyManager is moving to the
next position but the textbox is not being updated with the value of the next
row, it stays at the value of the first row.

// Initialization
string stockItemSelect = "SELECT stock_number "FROM po_stock_item ";
m_daStockItem = new NpgsqlDataAdapt er(stockItemSel ect, m_posDBConn);
...
m_daStockItem.F ill(m_dsLineIte m, "stock_item ");
....
tb_item.DataBin dings.Add("Text ", m_dsLineItem.Ta bles["stock_item "],
"stock_number") ;

// Code in Click event of Next button
CurrencyManager cmItem = (CurrencyManage r)this.BindingC ontext[m_dsLineItem,
"stock_item "];
if (cmItem.Positio n < cmItem.Count - 1)
cmItem.Position ++;

I've hooked up a TextBox's Text property with the property of a class. However, when invalid data is entered, the data binding updates the object immediately. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening? Or should I just re-assign the value to the object directly in this case? Thanks, Michael

I have a ComboBox and a TextBox bound to a Dataset/datatable returned from a SQL Database. The databinding is set in Design Mode. Everything works fine on my initial fill, and I get the correct list of items in the combobox, and the textbox which is bound to a second column in the same table, changes to the appropriate value when a new item is selected in the ComboBox. The ComboBox is displaying a list of products, and the texbox the...

Hi all, I may be missing something with how databinding works but I have bound a datasource to a control and everything is great, the control updates to reflect the state of my datasource when I update the datasource - awesome, but I have an issue with updating from a different thread. Here is my datasource, a person class that raises the PropertyChanged event: class Person : INotifyPropertyChanged {

L.S., Hello is there a way to implement 2-way databinding without using the datasources from dotnet 2.0. Why would you ask? Now that's simple. I've created an object model with BusinessObjects and I don't want to write an separate provider layer for the datasources. This is because I loose all the benefits of my objectmodel. Are there other developers who think this way?

I am confused about the way in which asp:table objects work. When a control is within an asp table it generally appears to be in the scope of the tables parent control. E.g. if i have a page that consists of an asp table called MyTable containing a textbox control call MyTextBox then i can access MyTextBox directly from the PageLoad event handler without having to use MyTable.FindControl(MyTextBox). MyTextBox can also be used for a...

Hi, Does the databinding support in ASP.NET 2.0 support two way databinding to datasets? I have a dataset, which is populated with data. I just want to bind the UI to it. I'm struggling to see any way to do this, and I see this post, which seems to suggest that it cannot be done (unless you write an additional adapter class):...

Hi, I've got a question which I'm hoping has a simple answer. I have a series of control bound to an underlying DataTable. The databinding are setup to update the data source on validation. I have an event handler monitoring the ColumnChanged event on the DataTable, and in certain circumstances I update another column in the datatable.

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
