I have several apps that use a roll your own approach, but I am embarking on
a project which will not allow that with the time constraints.
I have gened up a little app to try the databinding approach. Simply it is
a page to maintain the Territories table in Northwind (SQL Server).
I have two SqlDataAdaptors - one for the list of Territories
- on for the individual
Territories row (uses parameter to select)

Hello everyone,
I know this question has been asked many times in the forums, and after
spending a few days reading, I am still confused as to the answer.
I have a ListBox (lstBox), SqlConnection (sqlConnection),
SqlDataAdapter (daLookupData), SqlDataAdapter (daData), DataSet
(dsLookupData), and DataSet (dsData), all created via the IDE during
design-time. Here is the design of my simple tables: (An example
since I can't post my...

I have a ComboBox and a TextBox bound to a Dataset/datatable returned from a
SQL Database. The databinding is set in Design Mode.
Everything works fine on my initial fill, and I get the correct list of
items in the combobox, and the textbox which is bound to a second column in
the same table, changes to the appropriate value when a new item is selected
in the ComboBox. The ComboBox is displaying a list of products, and the
texbox the...

Hi everyone,
I'm working on cutting down code in a form I'm working on, and decided to
bind the controls to a dataset. I have two problems now. I have a couple
datasets that I'm binding to.
1. I have all databinding properties set for the control. When I fill the
dataset, there is now data showing up in the control. I'm using this code to
load the dataset:
With daIndTreatPlan1.SelectCommand.Parameters
.Item("@PatientId").Value =...

We have been noticing that questions on vs.2005/2.0 don't appear to get much
in answers so I'm reposting some questions posted by some of the programmers
here in our organization that never got answered...
In 1.1 we always did our own myDataAdapter.fills and we liked that control
for lots of good reasons. Now the new DataSource (or is it a
TableAdapter:Dataset) automatically fills the Gridview. How can we control
that fill?
In a...

I am trying to create a form using databinding to a dataset and one of the
fields requires the user to select from a list of optons. Any hints on how
to do this other than bind the field to a label or text box to display the
current field value then add a combo box with the list of items to chose from?

Hi
I'm pulling my hair out with a problem caused when DataBinding a
DataSet to a web control. I first tried using a GridView but when that
failed, I tried a Repeater. I'm getting the classic
"'System.Data.DataRowView' does not contain a property with the name
X" error message which suggests I'm not putting X in the SELECT
statement. But this is not the case. If I set the GridView to
AutoGenerateColumns="true", it works fine and all the...

Hello guys,
im new to asp.net and im trying to get me used to it. I've managed to create
webpages with detailviews, databinding and datasources. Adding or inserting
data went very well and, after a while, very fast.
Now i ran into a problem with accessing the data. I need to send an email to
the administrator with the data the user has selected instead of calling the
update method. Everything i've build up via the designer or the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
