Currently you'll need Visual Studio .Net 2003 Professional, or better, to
develop for mobile devices such as Pocket PC's and Smartphones using C# and
the Compact Framework. See the link below for more information on getting
started.

For a variety of user-driven reasons, we're using an Access DB on a Desktop as the repository for data we transfer to/from a Pocket PC 2002 Application that uses SQL-CE. Have not yet located a provider, so for transferring the data back and forth we're stuck with using Sockets and techniques really provided for messaging. Anybody got/seen a better mousetrap?

Is there a way for my website to redirect handheld and mobile browsers to another set of pages that are optimized for mobile/tiny browsers? I've seen this done but I couldn't find any sign of a redirect in the html. I've looked for information about this in usenet archives, but to no avail. Thanks very much for any help in advance!

I'm looking for samples which make use of the XHTML Basic doctype and handheld CSS. Anybody know some good URLs which use plain CSS to layout the page (as opposed to many graphics)? I want to test with Nokia 6600.

In a discussion between AJ Flavel and Spartanicus, The later said. "Layouts that work well on the desktop and on small screen devices are single column layouts. Layouts that use more than one column rarely work properly on a wide range of viewport widths. This also applies to "css" layouts that use separate "screen" and "handheld" stylesheets due to the poor support for the handheld media type and it's intrinsic limitations. The same...

I have a web app that is using the asp.net 2.0 login control and in the db the aspnet_tablename are created. This works great on the web app. My question is, is there anyway to use either the tables or the same login control for my handheld application to validate my user? I want to mirror the same validation on my handheld that my asp.net web app is doing. Is this possible to do?

English Wikipedia allows registered users to define custom styles. I created a set of styles inside a @media handheld wrapper to see if I could override the default absolute positionings and floats of the major page elements in IE on my Sony Treo with Windows Mobile 5. Without the custom CSS, on both the regular computer and the handheld, the content's beginning is offset from the top and left, and on the handheld it only takes up a...

Here's what I'm trying to do. First I export an existing table to a .txt file and move it to a handheld computer, it is then added to a database on that handheld. Data is inputted into the handheld, when all data is inputted the data is exported to another .txt file and transfered to the main computer. What I want to do is update the table on the main computer with the data that has been collected on the handheld. I know I could load the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
