Recently we upgraded our server from SQL 7.0 to SQL 2000. I created a new view in Enterprise Manager which pulls data from a linked server's database. When I write the view... CREATE VIEW dbo.VIEW1 AS SELECT * FROM LinkedServerName.DatabaseName.dbo.TableName and I click on the run button it changes to:

Is the main difference between the Visual Studio .NET Professional and Enterprise editions the inclusion (in Enterprise) of : 1. SourceSafe, 2. Visio (Architect), and (3) Win2003 Server integration? Also, if Professional doesn't include SourceSafe, but you ALREADY have SourceSafe, can you still use it within the Professional IDE? My guess is 'NO', since the Professional doesn't include the IDE integration DLLs for SourceSafe, but am just...

HI, all... My company is about to move from VS.net 2002 to VS.net 2003. Currently we have VS.net 2002 Enterprise Developer. After looking at the Microsoft's Feature Chart (http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/howtobuy/choosing.aspx) we found that we could downgrade from EntprDev to Pro without loosing anything that's useful to us. Testing Pro version showed no significant differences for our projects. So, basically I am looking for...

I want to build a data entry form for creating and updating info on something. When I'm first creating an item all the fields need to be editable. There after some fields become readonly. Most of these fields are text based, and I really want to have them appear as a label rather than a text box that is read only. I really want different behaviour for creation, edit and view. I guess I need to write a templated data-bound control.

we just ordered VS 2005 standard edition. i was reading up on creating windows services and apparently this is only possible with the enterprise edition. is this true, or does it simply mean there's no template for windows services with the standard edition? are there VS templates published by 3rd parties i can download to ease implementation? tks

Hello everyone. I've searched through the archives here, and it seems that questions similar to this one have come up in the past, but I was hoping that I could pick your Pythonic brains a bit. Here's a broad overview of what I need to do: cross-platform, client- side GUI apps that interact with a server backed by a database. I'd also like the possibility of having a web interface for small portions of the app. It will be a fairly...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
