ASP.NET app running for about a year with no problem and suddenly this week
it's giving error message. The same as the one decribed by another user.
Even stranger is that we only have this problem from some web clients
(desktop browser, IE) , some other people do not have problems at all from
theirs desktop.
Also, some clients can access the web app but some can't! Some can use IE
but not Netscape, some can't with both,
but there are...

Hi all,
If I change the selected value of a dropdown server control on client
side, is there any way to force the serverside Selectedindexchanged
event? (if the user clicks on the dropdown and selects a value, the
codebehind event fires, but if the value is changed via javascript, it
doesnt. I tried __doPostBack, but it posts entire form back and fires
all the validation check.
How can I achieve firing of server side event via javascript?...

Is there a way to get the MouseEnter event to fire for a user control that
inherits from UpDownBase?
The event is hidden, and does not fire when the mouse enters the control.
TIA

Hi,
I am facing one deployment issue, I have 3 aspx pages one for Login, other
for search request form and the third for displaying the results. After it
was working fine locally I deployed it on a local server. But after deploying
the Submit button event of search request page doesnt get fired on the
server, at the same time the login button event is firing for login page on
the server.
I tried to find out whats wrong using trace and...

What causes a server event to fire when something happens on the client?
Say a user changed the gridview's page index, the server side
PageIndexChanged event is fires.
What makes PageIndexChanged fires? Is it a field in the viewstate? Is it a
value in the forms collections? I am trying to understand the mechanism of
communication between the browser and the server.

I have an aspx page that fires the page load event twice for every load. I tried every fix that was suggested in all the posts on this and other forums. None changed the behavior. After one post that suggested they had an img tag with src="", I decided to look for instances of "src" and one by one start removing that code to see if it changed anything. Below is the one that, when I removed it, although it broke the flash menus and header, solved...

Hi!
I have some code within the Application_Start event in Global.asax
that runs a sqlscript against my sql server to check the databas
version. My problem is that sometimes the Application_Start event
doesnt fire, it skips it and goes directly to my default.aspx file.
I do the following:
1. IISReset.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
