Flash script causing page load event to fire twice

2 New Member
I have an aspx page that fires the page load event twice for every load. I tried every fix that was suggested in all the posts on this and other forums. None changed the behavior. After one post that suggested they had an img tag with src="", I decided to look for instances of "src" and one by one start removing that code to see if it changed anything. Below is the one that, when I removed it, although it broke the flash menus and header, solved the problem and my page load event only fires once without it and my code behind logic works properly now.

The problem is that I need the code I had to remove to fix the page load problem. So does anyone have any idea why this would cause my page load event to fire twice? See script below

Thanks for any help you can offer

</script>

Hello, I am trying to reference a Shockwave Flash Object on a vb code behind page in an ASP.NET project and I receive the following error: Guid should contain 32 digits with 4 dashes (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx). On the aspx page I have the object tag as follows:

Hi All, I'm very experienced in traditional ASP and am new to (am learning) ASP.NET. FYI: I am initially learning ASP.NET with VB.NET to ease the transition for me. I have encountered what I believe to be a huge limitation with ASP.NET and I'm wondering how you have handeled this problem. Let's suppose you have a page where the user can do one of two things: add a "Category", or add a "Movie Title" to an already existing category. ...

Hi Using VS.NET 2003, Windows XP SP1, We have a page which has been developed using ASP.NET. On it, is a button which when clicked is supposed to add some data to a table. When the button is selected, it causes the ServerClick event to be called twice. Here's the code: You'll see that there are two grids on the page, and that the function SetupDataGrid populates data to the two grid. There are also

I have an asp.net project with several pages. On most pages, clicking a button fire's the button's click event, and the page does not get reloaded unless something triggers a postback. But on one page, when I click the button, the click event does not fire, and the page gets reloaded (IsPostback is false). When I view the call stack, there isn't any vb code, just a fresh page load starting with IsapiRuntime.ProcessingRequest. What...

Hi, i have inherited a page from another user. The page is the target frame in a frameset. for some reason the whole page runs twice (page_load, init, etc. all run twice) I can't figure out how this is happening. there are no transfers or redirects that are occurring in the pages. the page runs thru all of its events then starts all over again. Trying to inspect the stack track doesn't help because when i get to the init the 2nd time,...

I have a page using a ObjDataSource and a XSD Dataset. I use this to fill a datalist. I have drop downs that can change the values loaded and they are listed as the parameters for the ObjDatasource. On initial page load the Datasource_Selected event will fire twice - thus doing what looks like two loads of the data and two times whatever events I have happening inside of the Datasource_Selected. However since I don't reload values into the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
