I know via mod rewrite you can mimi static pages, but how does one do this
for ASP?
Before I go crazy modifying my code to generate a static page for all of our
products (1000's of html pages) and new ones for SEO purposes, I want to
make sure there is no other way to do this?
Currently I load my detail pages this way:
/index.asp?produ ctcode=444
etc.
Thanks in advance

I guess the first question is: Why do you think you need static
pages?

I figured for better search engine results.
Is this the case or should I not worry?
Thanks

Spiders may or may not pick up dynamic pages, but most product pages
you probably wouldn't want indexed anyway. Let users find your system
and use your search, make sure you have a few static pages for
categories, manufacturers, etc.

I am very new to PHP, although I have been using ASP for a few years.
I use a product in ASP called ASPTear, it's a small dll that my
hosting company happens to have loaded.
Basically you can set up a function that you can pass an ASP page to
and it will read the ASP and write out an HTML file.
I use this to save load on the server and speed up my site, I have a
few include files that look up data and then present it, this data

I have a very simple website, built in FrontPage 2002,
which displays static information only.
I would like to add some ASP.NET web forms (providing
some event registration web pages). I plan to develop
the ASP.NET pages in Visual Studio .NET and then drop
them into my existing FrontPage web directory structure.
I would hope I can simply update my existing static web
pages using FrontPage, with a link to the .aspx pages
that I am...

Hi there,
I need to convert my ASP.NET site from a dynamic querystring site to a static site. Obviously I still want all the dynamic functionality but want all search engines to be able to spider my site.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a full and decent article on this technique as I am having trouble finding useful information.
thanks

First off, I am NOT a beginner. I have lots of experience developing
professional web sites and am a professional software developer.
Unfortunately I've been out of web site development for the past 2
years but would like to get back into it. What I need is some advice to
get me up-to-date on what is the best (or one of the best) ways of
developing web sites and web applications.
The following are my requirements:

I help manage a large web site, one that has over
600 html pages... It's a reference site for ham radio
folks and as an example, one page indexes over
1.8 gb of on-line PDF documents.
The site is structured as an upside-down tree, and
(if I remember correctly) never more than 4 levels.
The site basically grew (like the creeping black blob) ...
all the pages were created in Notepad over the last

I have heard static html is a good way to do the default.html as it is
faster and save resource hits over aspx for example.
But what if you want to generate and overwrite the static html pages every
day.
If you had a busy site like amazon the html pages would always be open and
busy by users hitting the web site every second. So how could the update
write of the page work.
Plus, what if you wanted ads on your page and you were using...

Hi,
We are developing a site that needs to be localized (english + spanish). The
site has a lot of "static" pages with a lot of text, and some dynamic pages.
We are unsure how to develop the static part. We could use a
localize/literal control and stick content in a resx-file - but it could be
several paragraphs in pure HTML and the text is not 100% static. It might
change a few times a year. Another way is to have two html pages and...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
