How to obtain Access 2002 start-up parameters

69 New Member
All,

I'm not sure of the correct term to use in formulating my question, but using VB how do I obtain the parameters (command line switches) that were used when Access was started? In other words, what object and property in VB capture the paramters used when Access was launched (e.g. /WRKGRP or /X <macro name>)?

I've search the Access help files, but since I don't know the correct term to use I haven't been able to find anything.

Thanks,
Scott

After doing a lot of vba work, I've noticed the size of my mdb has grown, even though no data or objects have been added. I've read that the following procedure will remedy this and improve performance: 1. From the command line, type msaccess.exe /decompile. 2. Open the database you want to decompile. 3. Open up any module. Select the Compile All Modules and Save All Modules menu items.

I have a client who is running several Access 97 databases that I have written for them. They are about to upgrade to Access 2003. Is the default file format of Access 2003 still Access 2000 the same as it was in Access 2002? I am running Access 2002 at the moment. Is there any reason for testing purposes etc, for me to purchase Access 2003 if I am going to recompile the Access 97 mdb files into Access 2000 format mde files which...

I recently created a new database in Access 2002. I took data from an access 97 database converted one of the tables to access 2002 and then imported it into a new table in access 2002. but for some strange reason, every once in a while the data changes to Japanese characters, it only happens once in a while, but once it happens that record is lost. i have tried everything compacting, importing to a new database, new table...What is...

Folks once again I look forward to your invaluable assistance. When converting an Access 2002 mdb back to Access 1997 using the Access 2002 inbuilt tools I receive the following error message "Some errors happened during the conversion. No converted database was generated". This message is not of great assistance to me in sorting out the error!! I have not been able to find any helpful support on where to start looking

Have previously upgraded from Access 2000 to 2002. Access 2002 seems to start as 2002 but when I create a new database, it says "Access 2000 file format" Why am I not getting a 2002 file format when I start a new program in Access 2002. Thank you.

I have a database in Access 2002 but I am unable to view code or write any modules when logged in with a limited user account using Windows XP, service pack 2 -- no problems when logging in as administrator, -- any ideas on how a limited user on Windows XP can access code and modules in Access 2002? Thank you very much.

I have previously used Access versions 97, 2000, 2002, and now 2003. I have written a program and wanted to send it to someone who only has Access 2002. I removed version 2003 and reinstalled 2002 but I can't see or open the program (though when I go to "ADD/Remove Programs" in the control panel, it is there.) There is no icon for it, it is not under "ALL Programs" on startup menu and I can't start it via "Explorer".

Hi Access Gurus The MS Access DB (MS Access 2002 Database) which is currently serving as the backend Database to MS Access (MS Access 2002/XP) frontend needs to be converted to Oracle 8i Backend (With the frontend still being MS Access 2002). The Client is very particular about the conversion. Would appreciate if any suggestion can be given as to how to start and go ahead with conversion. Whether the Upsize Wizard used by MS Access...

Hello I develop my applications in Access 2002. My development system is running Windows XP SP2 and I have Microsoft Office XP Developer. Microsoft Office XP is at SP3. I used Inno Setup (great product) to install my applications. When the Access Runtime was needed on the system I simply ran 'accessrt.msi' from Microsoft Office Developer discs. When another version of Access (other than Access 2002) was on the system then I simply...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
