Access 97 to XP Access Conversion Error

I recently created a new database in Access 2002. I took data from an
access 97 database converted one of the tables to access 2002 and then
imported it into a new table in access 2002. but for some strange
reason, every once in a while the data changes to Japanese characters,
it only happens once in a while, but once it happens that record is
lost. i have tried everything compacting, importing to a new
database, new table...What is causing this strange behavior?

Is it possible someone is changing the character set in your office?

I was installing some new stuff and came across an interesting pprogram
that MS stuck in my
Start/Programs/MS Office Tools area. (Who ever looks there??)
Anyway, it is called MS Office Language Settings.
I ran it for kicks and it asks what other language you would like to
support.
Cyrillic is listed 3 times.
Perhaps if you selected this option and THEN converted an mdb you would be
OK.

You might want to check http://groups.google.com, advanced search, group
*access* and look for Character set change convert as some of the words.

(that's better) I am trying to convert a field within my Oracle 9i Database that is of type BLOB (but this BLOB may contain a combination of clobs/varchars or images such as gif images, jpg images) to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 using Microsoft DTS. On trying to perform this simple conversion I recieved the error "Need to run the object to perform the operation - Exception Access Violation" from Microsoft DTS and my table...

Hi, I've recently upgraded from Access 97 to Access 2002 & the performance basically stinks. I have tried the following items listed below but it has only had a minor impact: 1) Upgraded Jet 4 to Service Pack 7 2) Set Subdatasheet Name to from 3) Shortened the file name of the .MDB file 4) Made sure the Track name AutoCorrect info is off

Folks once again I look forward to your invaluable assistance. When converting an Access 2002 mdb back to Access 1997 using the Access 2002 inbuilt tools I receive the following error message "Some errors happened during the conversion. No converted database was generated". This message is not of great assistance to me in sorting out the error!! I have not been able to find any helpful support on where to start looking

We users accessing the application Globally via the Citrix Servers and have been experiencing the following error on a daily basis: Disk or Network Error

Please excuse my ignorance in this area, being an amateur Access user. I have an Access 2000 application which runs fine, however when I convert it to Access 2002 and run it, it comes up with repeated error messages, as for example in the code below when it reaches the line rst.Edit The message is:

For about a year and a half now I have been working in Access 2002 at home and converting to Access 2000 for work (I need both versions). I made a few changes to forms and queries then converted to Access 2000 a (as I had done many times before). After this last conversion I tried to open the database in Access 2000 and got the following error when I tried to open the Access 2000 database from Access 2000. "Microsoft Access was unable to...

Hello, I created an Access database in Access 2002-2003 that I am trying to convert to Access 2000. During conversion, I get error "The report name ' dirDataCopy' you entered in either the property sheet or macro is misspelled or refers to a report that doesn't exit." I click 'ok', the word 'Converting' stays on the screen, and the progress bars never finish. I do not have any such report name or property, and have no macros. I have...

Could anyone please help me to understand what is happening here? The commented line produces an error, which is what I expected given that there is no conversion defined from type double to type Test. I expected the same error from the following line, but it compiles fine. The double is silently truncated to an int and then fed in to the implicit conversion operator. Why does this happen? Is there any way that I can keep the implicit...

I maintain a shared database on Access 97. I've just tried converting a test copy of the database to 2003 and it appeared to work OK. That is I got no error messages. However then I look at my modules, only 2 out of 9 have copied across. Do I need to do something special to recompile modules and take them across to the new version? I thought the conversion process would just handle it. Well it seems to for 2 of the 9 and I got no...

I have just been asked to port an Access 97 app from an old Pentium 3 to a new Pentium Core-2-Duo PC. On the new PC, Office 2003 is installed. On opening the database, Access provided me with an option to convert the database which I did. However, there are a couple of small issues. For one, there were a couple of conversion errors which it stored in a conversion errors table (saying it could not find the field "description").

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
