Distributing an Access program

I am writing an application ising Access 2000.
I bought a copy of Microsoft Office 2000 Developer Edition so I could
compile a distribute an executable copy of my application.

I also have MS Visual Basic Professional installed.
And I have Microsoft Office 2000 Premium installed.

The following message comes up while I am installing Microsoft Office 2000
Developer Edition:
"Microsoft Office 2000 Developer requires Visual Basic for Applications 6.0.
Before installing Microsoft Office 2000 Developer, Install Office 2000 or
another applicationthat contains Visual Basic for Applications 6.0"

Is Visual Basic for Applications 6.0 a seperate Microsoft package?

Can I upgrade Visual Basic 6 Professional to Visual Basic for Applications
6.0.

I would also be interested in contacting a programmer in the New York, New
Jersey area who is able to convert my application to an executable.

Please contact me at Bo****@hotmail. com

VBA is MSOffice's scaled down version of VB. If you have Access
installed, you have VBA installed.

I have seen this message, and off the top of my head I think there is
a Microsoft Knowledgebase article about it. I believe I ended up
running one of the other EXEs on the disks, which got the setup

Thanks Manning.

Before I attempted to install MS office 2000 developer edition I went to
Add/Remove Programs and uninstalled my prior copy of MS Office 2000
Professional.

Then I started to install MS office 2000 Developer .
I am going to go back and start again and read the install instructions
very carefully.

Please check back in a couple of days and I'll post what happens.
Afain , thanks

Tom

Thanks Tom.

I have been beating my head agains the wall on this and I am going to put it
aside for a day or two to regain my sanity.

Then I will poke around in the MS Knowledgebase and I will take a look at
what other EXEs are on the cd and see if I can get it going.

Please get back to me if you come up with any more details.

It has a front end MyApplication.mdb and a MyAppBbackend_be.mde; the front end is...

An odd confession; an odd request; but here's the tale.... My company has a few PC systems which we have used for about 7 years and not updated - we've "made do", and besides, "if it ain't broke....." as they say. Anyway, everything's finally getting replaced by a new set-up, and there is just one program, an Access program running under Windows 95, which we want to change for the most minor of amendments (almost cosmetic). The guy...

I've done some research on the net and think I have an answer, but I'm just looking for some other opinions. I would like to create an access database file to distribute to others. I would use an excel (which the other users would have) front-end to manipulate the database via vba. I'm assuming that since I'm only distributing the database file and not any part of the access program, there shouldn't be any type of legal issue. Any...

I have a weird problem at a client site. This has popped up in recent months and I don't know if it is because of an update to my development machine or something updated at the client site. I'm programming in Access 2007 and/or Access 2003. Usually 2007, but I keep the database version level at 2003. And my O/S is Windows 7; most if not all of the users are on Windows 7. Whenever a user updates to the newest release of the Access program,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
