MDE file shareware?

Hi,

I want to be able to offer a time limited version of my database. For
example I do not want the program to be able to run after x ammount of days
have gone by.

Could I create this inside access?

If i remember correctly, i posted to admonish you. The job of posting
the most relevnat material was already ably carried out by others.

I am only concerned that you seem to think that this PUBLIC service is
for you to use as an advertisment board.

I would have added more if there was more to add that i knew. I do not
know everything, but i knopw when something is wrong. Just tell people
the answer if you want to post here, stop advertising that you will
help them away from this board. I have nothing at all against you
running a business but you really need to find a proper forum for
offering your help.

I can offer you a service to improve your happiness, all for a small
fee of course.

Alternatively you can get a free copy of it by watching any comedy show
on telly.

If you want to continue to insult people because you are feeling picked
on then carry on. You are behaving very badly and i would hate to be
one of your customers as you are probably just as nasty to them.

Good luck advertising where you are supposed to.

Rob.

P.S. the lots of love comment was meant to disspate the anger not
inflame you. Stand back from this for a minute and you will see how
unreasonable you are being.

First of all the response was anonomously signed. How did you know who it
was? Just like XMVP!!!!

<<Thanks to those (Jeff etc...) who get this principle, this board will
continue and grow and be a resource for those in search of information
not in search of those who know but don't want to share.>>

He makes the accusation that I don't want to share. You know well, Tim, that
that is not true. I have helped you in the past and I am a frequent
contributor to the newsgroups.

<<Love to you all...>>

What a HIPOCRITE!!!!

Here are some links/samples that should help with this topic:

Look for the downloads:

"Updated have Database Expire After 30 Days Of First Being Opened."

Peter De Baets has a product called KeyedAccess that will do this I
believe:

I didn't say that you never shared - only that you didn't share in this
case and chose to advertise instead.

That is what upset myself and other enough to say something.

I am no hipocrite as you put it, i suggest that you look up the word in
the dictionary.

Why not just stop getting all hot under the collar and just relax. Many
are complaining to you about your tactics for posting adverts, just
stop now you've been called up on it.

Why not just smile, relax, and enjoy this wonderful invention instead
of getting upset that you are being told off.

It's funny - i always thought that people could work out differences
and come to agreement but it seems that there are just some people who
are so ignorant that they cannot see anyone elses viewpoint and will
throw a complete tantrum when they are shown to be in the wrong.

It is a shame that you cannot see when you should just bow out
gracefully and leave things alone. An apology for going against the
advised use of the boards would not go amiss but I assume that you
wouldn't know how to apologise even if you had an autocue to guide you.

<slither>Hope you find a way to be at peace with yourself</slither>

I won't respond again - you are not worth the effort anymore.

Hi all, As a general question: Is it possible to create custom file formats? I do not mean changing the attribute of a known file. For ex: A text file transformed into a .xyz will still be readable... So What I mean is a file format which will be readed by only one type application, lets call it YaFR (Yet another File reader). Thank you for your help!

I'm new to .Net. Specifically, I just started playing around with VB ..Net 2003. I'm considering developing some shareware applications. Would you consider .Net a suitable platform for this? I know I can create my apps in VB.Net since I've already built some prototypes, but the Framework issues concern me. I understand you have to have the framework installed and that it can

I'm wondering .NET is good for writing shareware at the moment since it needs .net framework installed in client's computer. But current windows don't have pre-installed .net framework which is quite big to download from internet for many customers. I'm afraid that will turn some customers away from your software.

Howdy! The search is a 1 GB+ file from a crash to be exact - had an e-mail correspondence (window) hopefully in it so I saved the file on reboot before windoze kicked in and want to open and search it for my e-mail, then delete the file... Anyone know of a program to do that which can find and then go up and down to extract or cut and paste my e-mail. It took a day to write that e-mail and I can't imagine trying

I made a key generator according to the specs of a shareware partner so customers can register online. It generates a key from a 'secret' and a combination of name and email / zip and then encrypts with the md5 algorithm. This shareware partner sends the key file in an email to the customer. I'm sorry to ask this perhaps 'stupid' question but: How do I check on my application side if the licence file / bin file is

Shareware & trialware needs to come in a small package so that customers on dialup can access these products as well. In practice, limiting maximum download size is highly desirable with the client base quartering every time the download size is doubled. Where package size is too big, it becomes more expensive to pay for trial download bandwidth than what you recover in sales. For example, typical conversions in the region of 1% see 2Gb...

I am a student taking a machine structures class in a university, which includes learning C. I am looking for a good freeware or shareware compiler which can be used in a "C only" mode. C++ isn't allowed in assignments, and I would like the compiler to check for C syntax instead of C++ syntax. Besides that, ease of use for a beginner and basic debugging capabilities are important. Suggestions are welcome.

My Shareware program (or rather Commerical Program with a time limited demo) used to have sales of around $2,000 per month around 2002, but then I got busy at work and didn't have time to maintain it, so sales dwindled off to about $200 a month or less. I still get the odd sale now and again. Recently whilst looking for a job I've spent months updating the software and I believe it's better than the competition, but after 2 months zero...

Hi Can anyone share their experiences regarding which approach (ShareWare vs Evaluation-ware) works best to protect profits and keep customers pleased? Having a ShareWare product that can be activated to a fully enabled version of that product with a registration code has it's disadvantages (given the numerous websites that post 'regcodes'), but ShareWare is also a fast and efficient means in keeping a customer happy. Evaluation-ware,...

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers.
